I do-unless the dealers or suits are being unfriendly or in some way annoying me. I also have stood on one die that went overboard for at least an hour so that I could take that die home and have it tested. I eventually bent down to tie my shoe and pocketed it.Quote:

My reasoning, i guess, is to help the boxman so he or she doesn't have to get up and walk around the table. Keep the pace of play up, especially if the shooter is hot, get the dice back in the shooters hand. Lastly, i am not a lazy person. I usually play at the ends of the table, so yes, I've even gotten down on the floor to look for a die that might have gone under a blackjack table next door. Reasons? They're going to stop the game for a few minutes if the shooter called "same dice" while they look for it. Also, I guess I'm just trying to be helpful to the table.
I pick up the dice to move the game along. The only time I would not do so is if the table is crowded and felt more comfortable watching the chips on my rack.

No I don't. I'm not paid to work there. I don't take security related risks that are senseless. I do realize that it would be courteous to do so, but I keep my eyes on my bets and the chip rail. If the floor has to come around the table and retrieve it, well, that is what he is paid to do. I don't want to cause any confusion with an ongoing roll or to hand the die to the stick or do anything else that would cause surveilance to become interested in me.Quote:

This is a silly thread. Anybody who stoops down inside any casino to pick up errant dice from the floor might as well wear a big neon sign on their back that says "I AM A LOSER!" That's something you only do for somebody you're visiting who has a craps table inside their home, or at a charity "casino night" event at churches, etc.

No. Players don't pick up cards mishandled by dealers.
Please don't get me wrong. I'm not paranoid or something. I'm relatively certain no one is going to try anything funny when its "too tall to call" time. I also am probably not playing in some 'stree people' type joint wherein everyone knows each other from the house of detention. Its just that there are certain things that take priority and I think keeping an eye on my chips is one of the priorities.Quote:

Do I suggest others adopt my somewhat extreme stance? No, not at all. Some enjoy the 'scenery' or the break in the routine. Its a festive time, its supposed to be fun. It generally remains a safe place, but I try to avoid getting unnecessarily distracted.Quote:
