The curious case of Alan the Weasel

It`s been quite amusing and a bit strange watching him do a tap dance that would make Sammy Davis Jr proud, over this Redietz package issue....he first gives Redietz his address and volunteers himself to be the verifier of whatever is in there....after the info is sent, nothing is said for 5 weeks, until someone, maybe myself ask about it here on the board...."I only make it to the office once a month" is Weasel Alan`s reply.....after a few more weeks, he changes his story to "I only go to the office once a quarter".....Then it`s "It`s not really my office and Toni pays the rent".....then "I want no responsibility for this BS and told him not to send it", which if you think about it, redeitz finding an office Alan doesn`t even pay rent on is even more amazing than Alan`s claims of KJ having x-ray vision :).....Finally, a clearly emotional Alan gives out some phone number of some guy that pays rent for office space that Alan never goes to, and has him open the package :confused::confused::confused:......In between all of this rather bizarre circumstance, Alan runs out to the Mirage at 3AM with a tape measure and starts measuring the distance between BJ tables :confused:......"Oh but I needed gas," he says.......which is understandable to all of us that have had those late night petroleum insomnia attacks:).......Dan has asked Alan to forward the package at least 3 times, with the last time Alan stating "I just sent you a PM".....which is code for "Please stop asking for the package and embarrassing me. My journalistic credibility is at stake, and I need it because Geraldo and I are planning a sequel to The Mystery of Al Capone`s Vault Part II :cool:.........Now Alan is running all over the board like Dirty Harry Callahan demanding proof from KewlJ and stating "I`m not letting up on you"......what`s next, "do I have 6 bullets or only 5?"...lol.....all in all, some very bizarre happenings, albeit very entertaining

I agree it's a good post.

Even though Alan seemed to have some disagreements with AP's, and had made some outrageous claims, I could respect the fact he was a reporter. I assumed he would be unbiased, seek and report the truth, even if it proved him and other AP doubters wrong(like a good reporter would).

From what I have seen so far on this forum that doesn't seem to be the case.

from what I have seen here If anyone was interested in having someone verify AP claims or otherwise, it doesn't seem like Alan would be a good choice.

You forgot a few, most notably.... I'm being set up.

Well, I never said I will never get to the office because I'm retiring.

Here's the number at the office: 818-264-1555. If Tony is there why don't you discuss my schedule, his schedule and our future plans.

I'm locking this thread. Tired of this topic.

Here are my conclusions:

1) I do not think Alan is a "weasel", nor do I think he was intentionally trying to make redietz look bad or avoid proving him right.

2) I do think that Alan handled the matter poorly. While he didn't really want redietz sending him the stuff, he still gave him an address and didn't refuse it. Alan should have been honest that he may never make it to the office, or that the delay could be for months. The endless delays and excuses in getting to the office made Alan look bad, and it's not unreasonable that people had suspicions regarding his motives. I personally believe that Alan didn't have bad motives, but he also let this drag for way too long.

3) Alan's giving out Tony's number was the solution which should have been employed a long time ago. Or, at the very least, Alan should have asked Tony to forward the stuff elsewhere (even to me, for example), or to simply return it to redietz. Alan and Tony have worked together for a long time, so Tony could have done him this favor. It's ridiculous that this stuff sat collecting dust in the office for months while Tony was apparently in the office frequently.

4) I do believe that some of Alan's haters/trolls have seized upon this opportunity to bash him and question his integrity. That is, I think some people here are happy that Alan mishandled the situation, so they could jump on it and say terrible things about him.

Bottom line:

- I think redietz has proven himself.

- I think Alan mishandled the situation, and deserves some criticism for that.

- I do not think Alan did this maliciously, and he doesn't deserve some of the awful things said about him.

Let's put this all to rest and be done.
