P = jackpot (known)
Bt = individual bet (known)
O = odds of hitting jackpot
Rt = overall return of game (for conservative estimate Nevada minimum of 75%)
Rl = reset level of jackpot (known)

So If I am understanding to determine the return of the base game (Rb) will be Rt - (O * Rl), correct?

If so, then we should be able to determine for certain at what point a progressive goes positive if we know O

basically Bt * (Rb + (O * P)) needs to be > 1 so

Bt * ((Rt - (O * Rl)) + (O * P)) > 1

Is this correct?

peepee, your calculations contain both known and unknown variables, so you will never be able to determine anything "for certain". You can do better than assuming 75% thru a little research. One of the parameters you can get spot-on is the meter movement for your formula and Axel pointed that omission out.
