TBH when I'm home I like to read the 1 star reviews of these places and wonder what it'd be like. What other places am I missing? I never got to visit the Western unfortunately. I did manage to make it to Terrible's where I am fairly certain I was exposed to the consumption many years ago. 1 woman nodding off, nasty cough, and peeing herself. When booted she realized she'd peed herself and didn't want to leave because she was embarassed so she sat back down. Yes, that was the last time I stepped foot in there for that cheap breakfast buffet. Moved right back home in the parent's basement and been happy ever since.
Still I wonder.. what else am I missing?
You missed the heyday, account. The old Gold Spike, way before the recent renovations, gave you a dial phone when you checked in at the desk. Evidently they had a hard time keeping phones in the rooms with their clientele. I was awakened several times with 2 AM knocks on the door, "Oh, sorry sir. We must have the wrong room. But would you like some company this evening?"
I'm not sure anything beat the old Western. The Quasimodo girls (not real cute; kind of walking around at a semi-upright angle) wandering around out front were just the tip of the iceberg. I got a room once there, tucked behind a pillar and the big generator. You couldn't hear squat. I was awakened the next morning with maids exclaiming outside, "Oh my God! Look at all the blood!" I went outside and, yep, lots of blood. No body, but plenty of blood. I had slept right through it. I think that was my second and final stay at the Western. Couldn't beat $12 rooms. Just had to avoid those rooms behind the generator.
I have stayed at a few places where there were bodies, but those weren't actual casinos, so I'll get into that another time.
