I looked at a few machines in the Bellagio in the early am (no UX), lost a few dollars, then had a security guy block the walkway north and demand to see my ID. I refused to give them my ID or players card (which I didn't use on any machine) and just walked off property.
Heard MGM started cracking down on APs in early 2017. Heard speculation it started in the aftermath of the embarrassing Bellagio Rolex robbery (Mar 2017), and may have intensified after the shooting (Oct 2017) and the Bellagio poker cage robbery (Nov 2017). Perhaps security/surveillance departments needed to look like they were doing something.
