Was The Coronavirus all just a Political Hoax?

Don't know if this this thread should go here or in the upcoming Political Forum. It is one is one of those Threads were it would fit into EITHER Forum. I'll put it here. ;)

So there were rumors that the Coronavirus was all just a Political Hoax to get people concerned during an Election Year.

My Mom told me she had a theory that Donald Trump made it up so that Elections could be postponed indefinitely so he'd remain the President even longer with no actual Elections. She mentioned she thought it was very fishy the Coronavirus just "Happened," to have happened in an Election Year(Technically Coronavirus broke out in 2019, NOT an Election Year). I replied that Trump would have been a complete idiot to have made this up to secure he automatically becomes President longer because if he did, that would be grounds for an Impeachment.

Some people mentioned that it was really odd that there hasn't been much News on The Coronavirus during the Election days and the News is now 98 percent of Elections and 2 percent of Coronavirus when Coronavirus SHOULD still be a huge chunk of the News.
