British Open
I plugged in Jason Day at 40.5-1 and Zach Johnson at 85-1 to win the British Open. Then I took a lunch money flyer on Adam Hadwin at 400-1.
I love watching this tournament. The consensus seems to be that Fleetwood, the European tour leader, may handle this course better than the Americans.

Good try.
Hadwin started with a respectable 71, but followed up with an 82, including a four-hole stretch containing a 6 and two 7s.
Fleetwood blew up immediately with a birdie-free first-round 76.
Nobody cares about senior golf, but Bernhard Langer has been remarkable, winning eight majors after age 56. He now has two championships at Royal Porthcawl with a combined victory margin of 16 strokes.

I was in a contest where you had to pick eight golfers, and the scores for the top four counted each day. I did alright but did not cash. The really fascinating thing was that about 30 people had Fleetwood and fewer than half that had Stenson (the defending champ). I couldn't get my head around that; I didn't take Fleetwood.
Zach Johnson had one terrible round. I would take him at those odds again.
Their odds weren't much affected by Stenson having won the previous year and Johnson the year before that.
