It is amazing how many people actually think being locked down is a good thing or what we need.
It isn't even something that is debatable or that one side understands the other side.
I am not sure how the two Ideologies can exist together anymore.
It kinda reminds me how Nazism refused to live in a world with Communism.
They fought it out and Communism won.
I am not sure that we in America can have both Liberal and Conservative Ideology anymore.
It seems to be coming to a breaking point.
Alot of those people will change their tune once the checks stop coming.
That's what you'd think, but in their utopia world view the government never stops sending the checks.
Over at BTF, one person suggested people need to go back to work and we need to get the economy going again. He was immediately attacked by Don (world renowned blackjack authority, but someone who doesn't have a clue what makes economy's function). Don asked him which relative was he was willing to sacrifice, or something to that effect, using the classic liberal guilt trip argument on him.
Don's implication was that if he wanted our country to open back up than that must mean he wants to sacrifice some people. This is classic liberal fear mongering, which is why it's pretty easy to see Don's a liberal.
This poster countered honestly (somewhat naively) that he didn't want anybody to die, he just wanted the country to get back to work.
The interesting thing with this pandemic is that it's pretty easy to spot people's politics. Liberals are the scared ones, who want to hide out in their basements, expecting the government to send them a check every month while they do nothing.
Conservatives are the optimistic ones, who get we've been thrown a curve ball and now we've got to figure out how to best deal with it. Conservatives believe life goes on, so people still need to work, and enjoy life (which might mean going to a casino or movie), but we need to be responsible and safe as we do this.
For those liberals petrified of the virus, put on a hazmat suit when when you go outside. But please come out of your basement.
