Where my support for Rob Singer ended.
I was always critical of Rob Singer for his obnoxious behavior on message boards: I have no tolerance for his disrespect and insults and I knew about his misbehavior even before I met him.
But I was intrigued with his "special plays" and I believed they needed to be explained and even his own books and website failed to explain the special plays. That's why I did the interviews and the videos with him. I think some of his special plays have some value, especially when trip-Aces are presented in certain games. But I leave the choice about using them or not using the special plays to each individual player. Frankly, even Rob has said he doesn't use his special plays as often as I thought he did.
During the course of the interviews I discovered there was more to his overall strategy and clearly I objected to his belief that machines were not random. I did however embrace his strategy for win goals and loss limits and I use them myself.
I think that he is absolutely wrong when he tells players to avoid the benefits and conveniences that casinos offer including player club benefits, credit lines, check cashing, and using cage accounts, and comps. He is just leaving too much money "on the table" and perhaps for him -- a video poker player at $25/coin ($125 per play) -- he can afford to do that. I know I can't.
Rob has a few good ideas, but we have to separate the good from the ridiculous.
