You could literally give me anything and I can give you whataboutism.
Trump takes classified documents that he was entitled to declassify and take.
Biden stole classified documents he could not lawfully remove from Capitol Hill and kept them for years.
Trump gets charged but Biden doesn't.
So if anyone says, "hey Trump got charged but what about Biden? Biden should have been charged."
You think it is wrong to say "What about Biden?"
There is a thing in the constitution about equal protection under the law. It is all about whataboutism.
I was trying to figure out why you brought this back to Trump. I specifically tried to leave that out of it. I really don't care about the fucker since he is no longer President.
but I had to ask ... "Why is Mickey so obsessed he brings Trump back up?"
Then I realized I had used a term recently made popular in use against right-wingers. Previously I called it the 'grand excuse' or maybe 'golden excuse' but then I started to see whataboutism being widely used so I started using that term. Makes sense, no?
But then one might ask, why did this come to be a thing during Trump's years?
It must be the fact you have such a rotten sleazeball president but you also have the strongest sense of fandom/manlove ever seen in my lifetime. When you take people sooo attached to a man who has done so many sleazy things .. they're going to have to justify themselves. The more sleazy the person the more they have to do this.
Wallah! whataboutism. aka golden excuse.
