Thread: For Rob Singer- Confirm something for me please

  1. #1
I was bored and going through old message boards threads last night and came upon one that posted: Rob was doing a trial on a new strategy where he plays 200 credits of BP and then 800 credits on an advanced game with a win goal of min. 100 credits, and that you had so far to that point won 45 sessions and lost 4 on it. My question is: is there any truth to this and if so could you break the strategy down for me to practice and maybe use in action on my next trip out? I'm always looking for new ways to win and this one sounded interesting to me and I thought I would follow up on it and see if there was any merit to the story. Thanks.

Yes I did that because of a request from a vp player who didn't want to change denominations when he and his wife played. I'm also doing my best to recall the details behind it. There is no math behind this, e strategy - only some ideas that might make this a lucky & more enjoyable way to play. It is still a far better way to play than just sitting at the same game for long hours hoping the RNG cooperates with you instead of with the machine/casino.

I did test it out as you mentioned and did very, very well. Even got two royals. I played it on the old vpgenius site and used 8/5 BP & 9/5 SDBP (a difficult paytable to find, but this would have made no difference to the 45-4 record, although it had a slight effect on overall win amount. You can use any advanced BP game like, ddbp for instance. The key is to always quit and restart once you get at least 100 credits ahead. There is no cashing out to do unless and until you get to +100 credits. So you'd put 200 credits in and start playing/keep playing BP until they are either gone or you're at least 100 credits ahead. If you lose them then you put 800 credits in and play the advanced BP game until the meter shows a minimum of 1100 credits.

Edit: I notice an emoticon showed up at the top. No idea how or why.

The emoticon is hugely humorous. Singer spews more lies and should be "red faced". Chuckle, chuckle.

I don't understand what the "system" is supposed to be here? Or how this plan is supposed to make you win? Explain this a bit further because it escapes me.

So, at a $1 8/5 Bonus game I put in $200 and if I show a profit of $100 I cash out. If I don't have a profit of $100 I keep playing till I lose all $200. Do I have it right so far?
Then if I lose $200 at Bonus, I put in $800 at a game like Double Double Bonus and I keep playing until I am showing an overall profit of $100 again which would be one hundred dollars on top of the $1,000 I put into the machine. Do I have that right?

Okay, so how is this system or plan supposed to make me a winner? All you are telling me is to try Double Double Bonus for four times the amount I would have played on Bonus to win the same $100??? Huh???

Thanks for getting back with me on it Rob. I played around with it on the computer and have won 3 in a row with it. May try it out on quarters inside the casino. Thanks again for explaining it.

So the bankroll requirement for quarters is $250? And do you stay at the same machine? Thanks.

    Slingshot,
I played around with this last night and won all 7 sessions- yes 250 would be amount for quarters.. and I practiced it playing on same machine but maybe Rob will see this and answer that question. It is a fun and interesting way to play.
I was wondering though about trying this out for fun: Play DDB only 25-50-1.00-2.00 using 100-200-300-400 credits trying to win 5 dollars before starting again at quarters? Rob or anyone else have you tried this?

Guys, would someone please explain to me how this system is supposed to make you win? Does it have any influence on the cards you hold, on the way the RNG delivers the cards or chooses the cards? Please, I need an explanation about why this betting scheme makes you a winner.

Any system that has a small win goal will produce more session wins. Essentially, this system has a 100 credit win/goal and 1000 credit loss limit. I would guess, assuming you are playing 99+% games, you will win close to 70-80% of your sessions. The surplus win amount (you almost never win exactly 100 credits) would cover the difference to get you up to the ER of the games.

Thanks. Will try this on dimes next time for funsies. It seems like an interesting way to play-and should satisfy the hour and a half I usually get to play.

Alan, I don't believe ANY scheme MAKES you a winner. There are just too many variables. It's still about win goals, recognizing special opportunities to make special plays that MIGHT end a session, and quitting at a certain point, win or lose. Did you see the part where Rob LOST 4 sessions?

Sorry for the delay, but if you read vpFREE later this morning you'll see I was kind of busy last night

First off Alan, you understand the system correctly, and I have no idea what "lie" arci's babbling about this time....unless he's perpetually jealous that other players ask me more questions about playing than him.

There's nothing magical to this as I said. It's just a way to play that someone once asked me about who gambled twice a year and was getting bored with doing nothing but pounding buttons on a single denomination. I tried it on vpgenius and was successful--at least in the 49 sessions. And arci's numbers are wrong as usual and you'll notice how he just threw them out there hoping they'd stick. What else is new? With him all he knows how to do is pretend the guy's gonna play a few million hands this way, and even with all that sad down time he has on his hands he's never been able to figure out how to analyze anything in the short term. The funny part is how he just plain forgot to analyze his own personal situation "long term"!

I haven't done that but it falls in line with any other non-structured single game progression in denomination and number of credits played with a small cashout goal: you'll win many more sessions than you will lose, and you hope for the big hits on the higher denoms, of which you have a good chance for that happening due to the climbing number of credits being played. It's all about keeping up interest as you play, something AP's who sit 6-8 hours playing have no clue about as all they seek is feeding their addiction to the game.

Oh, I think my estimate is likely to be fairly close. When you have that much difference between win goals and loss limits it always increases your session wins. This is not rocket science.
