Now that the football games are just about over except for the Packers--who don't interest me, I've been meaning to ask this question of the vp players among us. Earlier today I mentioned how last night was a very good nite for me, meaning I did great on a few vp machines, especially considering I haven't played more than 30 minutes since relocating to N. Nevada.

I went to Casino Fandango with Cindy last night after spending much of the day with friends over in Reno. I didn't play all day and decided to listen to the band there and have a drink at the bar with my wife inside Fandango since it's not far from our RV park. If you haven't been inside this casino, it sort of reminds me of the festive atmosphere at the Peppermill on a busy weekend night.

So I stuck in three hundies and played the old standby: BP, which is 7/5 on $1, $2, $5 & $10, but only 6/5 on quarters & 50c on this six-level beauty. Not playing any particular strategy, I played a few hands on 25c, some on $50c, some more on dollars, and because I wasn't doing so well, I played a couple of hands on $2 hoping for a FH or something better that would put me up whatever and I'd go back to quarters. There were no plans to play any higher since I only had about $600 on me.

After only about ten minutes of sitting there and on the $2 game, here comes my third-ever dealt royal--all of which have been in hearts. And you know what? I almost felt guilty getting this one with so little effort, and on a machine that the so-called "experts" say I will lose on and on a machine they claim they would never play. So look what they missed out on THIS time! We left 25 minutes later because that's how long it took them to pay me in cash. Profit for the short visit--$7880 minus two bucks for the bartender's tip.

The night was ALMOST over, but not quite. Down the street was a fairly new small casino I'd never been to, so I wanted to go in for a few waters this time and to get a players card/check out the place. It's nothing special and I even bought two waters after signing up for their card. Then we recognized a couple from the RV two spots away from ours, and sat down to chat. Turns out these folks have never played vp, so I sat down at a 25c/50c/$1 machine just to give them an idea. But the "lesson" soon became boring as all I was doing is losing hundred after hundred, and they went home.

We didn't, because while I was playing Cindy was deep into her Kindle so staying another 30 minutes was neither here nor there. BTW, this dollar game was 8/5 BP. Down about $600 on a very frustrating machine, it then proceeded to deal me a pair of tens three hands in a row, and holding them rendered no improvement on the draw. The next hand was a RAZGU, but it included a 10 high. I thought for a moment, then held it out of irritation. The royal filled in on the draw. Sweet revenge. That's when we left.
