Thread: Pala moves VP machines

BTW Pala took out (or at least moved) the good VP. I could not find the 9/6 progressive vp anymore. Bastards!!!

I moved you post to create a new thread.

This is very interesting and since Pala is just down the road from Rincon (but Pala is closer than Rincon to the 15) I wonder if Pala management reasoned it this way: "Heck, we are closer to the 15 than Rincon is, so if Rincon has downgraded their video poker, why do we have to offer better video poker when we are a shorter drive and closer in than Rincon is?"

What about the rest of their video poker? Do they still have 9/6 jacks even without the progressives?

Since Pechanga is really the "king of the market" the thing to watch now is what Pechanga does, if anything. When Rincon first downgraded their machines, I asked some of the Pechanga managers I know if they might alter their video poker and they said "no." I hope that is the case. Pechanga offers all kinds of full pay machines or at least better paying machines than what Rincon offers.

I heard on the "gambling with an edge" program with the manager at Pechanga that California law doesn't allow any full-pay slot machines or VP machines. Is this true? I think has to be??

Question is how do you define "full pay"?

When most video poker players talk about full pay machines they talk about the games with the best pay tables. 9/6 Jacks is full pay even though the game does not return more than 100% and returns 99.54%.

I don't know of any casino in California that has a video poker machine with a payout in excess of 100% and the closest might be the Super Aces Bonus machines at Rincon. (I'm not sure what the paytables are at Morongo or Pechanga which also have SAB machines.)

In Nevada I know there are a few 100%+ games in certain casinos but they are few.

If there is a law preventing 100%+ machines in California I don't know about it, but it is really an "academic question" for most of us.

Anyone been by Pala lately to see if the machines are gone or merely relocated? I asked some employees and they had no clue what I was talking about.
