PS. The almighty Rob Singer, ruler of the casino world, has pronounced judgment again.
Then as a big boy, how about not making any more declarations that you are done playing at CET for the year any more because of this or that, when clearly, you just cannot stop going. It only makes sense. And you know what? Others here see this but won't say it because they don't think it's politically correct....and you know that.

Rob I can't figure you out. This thread is about big casino wins and jackpots. It is not for you to lecture on anything including where I play. For the record I was also at Caesars a month ago when I hit the sequential royal. Why all of a sudden are you now lecturing about whether or not I play at Caesars? Having a bad run at video poker Rob?

Alan, the message is simple: you rarely do what you say you're going to do other than make trips to casinos, and it may mislead others into believing if the host can do it then so can they. If you just came out and said you are so addicted to gambling action that you know you cannot stay away from it even though you have proclaimed you WOULD multiple times -- which also may have led to a fateful marriage/ divorce or two (which you of course understandably would never fess up to) that would be understandable. But you went thru hoops to complain about CET's bad paytables & reduced benefits leading you to not play there any more this year outside of freeplay. Just makes no sense. I like reading posts that flow in some kind of a structure. Most of yours do. This particular subject lacks that approach.

Rob thank you for congratulating me on my big wins.

I hope you feel better soon.

  5. #1485
Of course I will congratulate anyone who hits big. Doesn't mean they win a thing though, which is the reason for the outcry on vpFree to get the IRS to allow session results guide the overall W2G rather than individual hits over that number.

  6. #1486
Session results for W2Gs? Now that's a fantasy.

I'm posting this on behalf of Jason. He was in Vegas to visit relatives and did a quick drop-in visit at Binion's where he placed third in a $160 poker tournament for a $1400 pay and then went to Red Rock where he hit quad aces with kicker on a $2 Double Double Bonus progressive for $5266. When I post the picture note that the royal progressive was $13,345. The game is 8/5 which is typical for DDB progressives these days.

The Red Rock progressive only applies to the royal and quad aces with kicker.

    Edited to add the photo.

That's the thing about the "AP" fascination with what a pay table is on any particular play session. If that pay table were 10/6 he still would've beaten it--maybe with another insignificant fifty bucks or so. Or if he didn't hit the Aces he still would've lost what he put in. A few extra hands usually means nothing.

People are SO misleadingly infatuated with pay tables and tiny differences in percentages that only have meaning to the machines and the casinos that they forget the only important measurement is how were their results TODAY. Was Jason playing in a 98% environment, or was he in one of those cozy, secure, phantom-bucks-crazy 102% zones that "guarantees" it's a "good play" but--and Wizard will attest to this--it does not guarantee a win.

Congratulations Jason on defining the definition of what a true "strong player" is.

A "strong player" is not what you think it means. From the casino's POV it means the player absolutely sucks and will drain all his money....not sure if that's what you meant or not.

I heard the term "better player" to describe this.

Guys, whenever you see me use the term "strong player" I'm mocking Dancer, who's referred to himself in that term in his book and multiple articles. It's like if he referred to himself as a "strong husband" or having "strong ethics".

I have to correct this. I heard the term "better player" to mean a bigger player -- not necessarily a losing player, and certainly not a whale. I don't think "whales" need any special descriptions -- and they are usually called "Mister" or "sir."

Unfortunately, the rest of us may not know the context for your use of certain phrases and words and descriptions. So it would be better if you explained them or used terms and phrases and words that would not be confusing.

The joy of Ultimate x. After a flush on two lines the aces dealt. Drew two "kickers".

    Aces are Amazing. Congratulations regnis.

Nice hits. I see a lot of these in my local joint. Have a few 50¢ and $1.00 regulars.

At this casino, the X machines aren't multi denomination. This machine is quarter only. There are some dollar games but, although I play a lot of 3-way and 3-way super pay at dollar level, the variance is too great on dollar Ulti X--at least for me.

I prefer 50 cent but don't think they have any.

I'll take anything as long as more is coming back than going in.

Boy that's a lot of quarters. Congrats.
