I meant it only in the denomination department. Didn't think nickels would be your cup of tea. Anyway, no-one said you have to play fast. Much easier to get quads also with not much of an additional cost.

There is nothing wrong with playing nickels.

The only criticism I have of low limit players is that elderly couple who tied up the 100 - play video poker machine at Rincon playing one line for one cent and was dealt a royal. I was ready to twist their heads off as they high-fived each other.

That reminds me of the civilians who get upset at me when I'm dealt a hand that would otherwise win a side bet on whatever table game I may be playing. I tell them that no matter what, they wouldn't have won anything on it. Why anyone worries about my money and my bets is beyond me. The Three Card Poker's Pair Plus bet is the worst by far for criticism.

I reached seven stars this year for the 1st time playing mostly nickle and dime multi-line poker... got 7 royals so far this year in dime mode and 9 in nickle mode, 2 of which were hand pays thanks to multipliers... 23 royals total.. works for me : )

You reached that level on just nickels and dimes? Have you done anything else this year (like eat and sleep) other than play VP? It seems like a long, drawn out way to put enough money through to reach that status.

    Just some quick figuring:

Ten line, ten cent video poker is $5 per play. You need $50,000 actual coin-in plus bonuses for Seven Stars. So that's 10,000 plays. At a modest 500 plays per hour that's only 20 hours. Is my math right?

Sorry Alan, I don't think that would work. It's 50,000 tier points worth of coin-in, not $50,000 coin-in.

At $10 per point it would be $500,000 coin-in...100,000 plays...200 hours.

If you find a great paytable that requires more coin-in per point, just adjust upward from there.

Count Room you're right. But 200 hours after six months is doable. 33 hours a month.

well I usually play super poker which is 60 coins when playing 10 hand.. my tier score is approx 154,000 at the moment.. 97,000 of which is from bonuses...
I have no business being a SS, but by using their system to my advantage I was able to reach it... lots of 1000 & 2500 tier days.. too bad I reached it when its not worth a whole lot anymore..

It's still worth a lot. Ask Dan Druff.

  11. #1471
well what I meant is its not worth what it used to be worth...

It's all relative. To someone who can make use of all the benefits 7 Stars is still worth the play. In my case, it makes no sense to continue playing to reach the Experience Credits since they aren't attractive and the extra amount of play needed isn't worthwhile.

Yes, last year, before the "big change" I was able to get several thousand dollars of $500 comp cards to use at restaurants and in the gift shops. But that's gone this year, and so is the incentive for extra play.

I made an unexpected, unplanned trip to Caesars Palace late Saturday night. I was expecting to be up there for Sunday and return Sunday night or Monday morning -- instead I had such a relaxing time I decided to stay up there until Wednesday afternoon. I really needed time to decompress after a very hectic three weeks. And I decompressed by watching movies (unlimited with 7 Stars) and they included Entourage (great), Beyond The Reach with Michael Douglas (really good, when did this come out?), Mad Max (don't bother). Fast & Furious 7 (bored me), Extinction (thought it would be good but it wasn't), San Andreas (ridiculous but I wanted to see it) and two other movies with titles I forgot because I didn't finish them.

Room service was great and I always eat healthy and actually tend to lose a pound or two when I am in Vegas. For breakfasts I had oatmeal and a whole avocado, and for dinner it was War Won Ton Soup and other Asian foods because the room service kitchen at Caesars really has the best Asian food. By the way the room service kitchen at Caesars is separate from all of the restaurants at the property.

I did have one dinner "out" and that was Tuesday night at Gordon Ramsay Steak at Paris with my son, his girlfriend and her parents who live in Vegas. I actually stayed over an extra night to have dinner with them. I've been to Ramsay's place many times but this time we sat upstairs in a separate dining room that was actually quiet without the loud music and the blaring lights in the main dining area. This made the meal exceptionally pleasant. While I love dining there -- I hate the loud, noisy main dining area. The upstairs dining area has about ten tables and it was wonderful.

So, this is a thread about big casino wins and jackpots -- and I had them. And they all came with Aces even the one jackpot where four aces equaled a Royal because of the kicker. Yes, I played for the first time in years Triple Double Bonus and I was dealt quad aces plus a 9. I held the aces and wished and prayed for a kicker and I got it for $4,000 playing the $1 game. What's really funny is that on my way to the casino from my room, I realized in the elevator that I had left my phone upstairs in the room. I said to myself "darn, if I hit a jackpot no one will believe me without a picture." And then I said "maybe because I did leave my phone in the room I will hit a jackpot!" Yes, I hit a jackpot, and fortunately the couple playing next to me had their phone and they took the photos of me and the AAAA with kicker and sent it to me.

I also hit quad aces with a kicker playing Super Double Double Bonus $1 for $2,000 and quad aces at $5 for $2,000 and quad aces for $2 Bonus for $800. Photos are below.

I want to mention something curious about the last photo which is the quad aces on the $5 Bonus game: I put only $300 into the machine and hit several small pays before being dealt the three aces and drawing the fourth. I thought about cashing out right then and there -- but I still had, as you can see, $250 on the machine. So I kept playing and kept winning. Two hands later I hit quad 9s for $625 and a couple of hands after that I was dealt quad Queens for another $625. At one point the meter read $1900 -- and I even got quad 6s during this run. I kept raising my "stop loss" and finally cashed out with $1500. That was quite a return on $300 in this machine. By the way, this was the same machine I hit the sequential royal on -- the only $5 Bonus machine in the Palace Court high limit slots area.

And an interesting note about the Palace Court high limit slots area. I was walking around to check for other video poker machines and I noticed that the $25 machines with 8/5 Bonus and 9/6 Jacks now have signs that say 1 tier credit = $25 coin in. That's new.

Also in the Palace Court there is a new Wheel of Fortune machine with a $100 denomination. It is only one coin to play. The minimum spin pays $3,000. And if I recall, the maximum spin pays $60,000. (I might be wrong about this -- I didn't want to stare too long or I'd be tempted to play it.) And what about the jackpot? Well -- there is NO progressive. The max payout is $200,000.

I was also dealt four to the royal a total of six times I was there -- and never converted. I was even dealt four to the royal twice back-to-back.

For icing on the cake, I even won a little playing craps. Nothing big. But instead of losing a lot of money playing craps I actually finished ahead a few hundred dollars at craps on this trip. Not one Fire Bet payoff, however, and the closest was 3 points made. That was frustrating.

You just aren't able to release yourself from the incredible hold CET has on you. You had us going for a bit though. For credibility's sake, it would have been nice to see you do what you said you were going to do. How many times have you recently posted that you were done playing at CET for the year except for some free play? Very disappointing....

Looks like $8800 worth of Aces and a total of $8000 in W2G's. What was the net vp win?

  15. #1475
Rob Singer this was recreation and I'm a big boy. Yes I made money on the trip and how much is none of your business.

PS. The almighty Rob Singer, ruler of the casino world, has pronounced judgment again.

Man Alan, it was raining aces! Congrats.

Congrats Alan. Always a fun trip when hitting! I am in Vegas. Staying at Paris. Was probably playing right outside of Gordon Ramsay when you were there. Lol. Small world...
