But it strikes me as odd that you'd play THAT promotion in '90-'96. An extra 250 credits on 7777 adds like 0.8% without strategy change, maybe up to 1% (guess) with strategy changes, if any exist (perhaps 77 over 4-flush, can't think of any others). With 1.5% CB you're looking at a 2% play on $1 denom......which isnt all that great, even by today's standards, IMO.

Shouldn't be looking to play the best promo at your local/frequent casino, but look for the best promo and go to that casino.

I hope you had some much better plays back then, for your sake.
The situation was the key driver. I could only go to Nevada whenever I got home from overseas trips, and I didn't have a lot of time to research plays that we're 200 miles or more from my home. I almost always played in Laughlin.

These were straight-up machine plays with relatively high cash back. I see nothing like that available these days without creative concocting. What's an example of a straight-up play greater than 102%?

It's paranoia because he doesn't understand. A redietz verification with a DL would be proof to me because I'm able to accurately verify its validity. Someone like james hasn't the experience or know-how so I understand. And why he believes there's nefarious reasons is a mystery....esp. after claiming everything can be faked anyway. Makes no sense.

For a straight-up play, I'd say it's pretty damn good. Can't think of one better than that, off the top of my head. But straight-up plays are about as bad as they get, compared to everything else.

It'd be like saying you're a professional blackjack player because you play a game with a 0.2% advantage straight up.....yeah, that might be the best BJ straight-up play, but every other form of BJ AP is superior (CC/HC/next-carding/bottom-carding & steering).

I think your failure in AP has more to do with lack of effort or ability to play good games. How much did you say you lost in your "AP" years? I thought it was a significant amount, IIRC.

I see an anonymous poster hiding behind an alias asking for drivers license info to "verify" someone elses identity. Who in their right mind would provide it?

If you don't see anything nefarious in a stranger soliciting personal information from other people on an open internet forum, then I have a friend in Nigeria that may give you some lessons.

    Rob is far from anonymous.

Rob cleared this up weeks ago. He stated unequivocally on this forum that he knew who I was and that I was using an alias and it was "so funny."

And I admit it. The handle "redietz" omits the periods from R.E.Dietz, so I am, in essence, using a nefarious alias to hide my true identity. But Rob, clever devil, saw through it from the start.

So why after "his people" discovered your cleverly hidden identity does he now need your DL? Are his people not that good? Or are you so much more devious than he thought?

Rob has a phobia about people skipping two periods. It goes back to some sleepless nights regarding his first girlfriend when he was 15.

That, and his people refuse to mess with somebody with the middle name "Earl."

Well, you can't really blame them. Maybe therein lies the reluctance to meet face to face.

I'm not one of his people, but I'm willing to mess with you ditz.

Come to AC and I'll teach you to body surf.

I've read that you're a swimmer. With those big ears of yours, you'll be like a ray gliding through the waves.

Did you grew up in Bmore, ditz?...just like Michael Phelps?

If yes, then maybe you're no stranger to the Atlantic Ocean, and already know how to body surf.

So then we could set up a contest that we could wager on...a physical challenge.

Doesn't even have to involve the ocean.

What do you think, slim? You game?

Well, I'm 59, so if you're in the vicinity age-wise, I'd consider giving it a go. I have to warn you -- I was in a Superstars competition back in my youth. Finished third in my age bracket. Picked the hurdles as my seventh event -- bad idea. Fortunately they were the low hurdles. That's an idea -- let's look up the events from the Superstars I was in, and we each pick seven, and we'll use the same decathlete-type scoring. You get points based on performance in each event.

But you gotta be in my age bracket, or no go.

By the way, I don't swim at all. Never have. That's why I was stuck with the hurdles as my seventh event. I would have been better off with tennis, but I was scared I'd get whomped and my scoring would suck. Also, not from Baltimore. Also no reason to go to AC. Anytime in Las Vegas, though. This is, after all, a Las Vegas site.

I thought you wrote earlier about swimming laps as part of your training for something or another. But OK, then if you're not a swimmer then I'll insist on taking you for a swimming lesson.

Let's pick 10 Olympic individual events, you pick 5 and I'll pick 5.

We'll alternate events, and use Olympic scoring to determine the winner.

We can bet $1000 on each event...and maybe another $5000 on whether we can start all 10 within a certain time frame.
This way nobody can chicken out after the first or second event without taking a hit.

Good news...hurdles and tennis are both eligible.

I get out to Vegas once a year, either St Pats, Mem Day, July 4, or Labor Day.

This can all go down in a parking garage, since you always seem eager to meet folks in a parking garage.

Except for the swimming lesson...I'm thinking the Mandalay Bay wave pool would work.

Remember to bring your swimmies, oldtimer.

Hey redietz, do you get along with anyone anywhere?

I think redietz is here primarily to attack Rob. Maybe he likes to promote his own sports betting successes sometimes, but I really don't recall he ever shared any useful information that anyone else could ever use.

If we're betting, I think a series of intelligence tests should be added to the mix. Fair enough?

So coach, you're in my age bracket?

I don't know, Alan. I went 2000 posts without mentioning sports betting until Rob claimed I was somebody else. Why he did that, I couldn't tell you.

And in between those 2,000 posts, what helpful information did you actually share here?

  20. #2140
    Let's see.

    1) Contributed to debunking the idea that loss limits are helpful on positive expectation machines.
    2) Contributed to debunking the idea that win goals are helpful on positive expectation machines.
    3) Explained how one should shop for lines at what locations in Las Vegas, providing exact sequences and explaining which shops are under the same companies.
    4) Reported on Boyd slot club benefits and bonus days, which nobody else did.
    5) Went into long debates regarding the WoV "gotcha" dice-under-the-cup question, explaining exactly what was wrong with the way the thing was written and why the fault lay with the author, who was shooting for "gotcha."
    6) Reported on the cheapest times of the year to stay in Las Vegas, which are pretty specific and not everyone knows.
    7) Reported on the comp systems or lack thereof of all major sports books in the city.
    8) Gave a couple of tale-of-woe trip stories, so people hopefully don't do what I did (like hit three royals in one day, but have a single coin in on two of them).
    9) Gave a couple of book reports -- including books about controlled shooting and designed addiction of the machines.
    10) Listed best and worst buffets around town.

I wasn't terribly helpful, but the info was non-CET and helped balance the forum.
