Oh, and this person Rob Singer or Rob Argentino's sexual obsession with me, another guy...well let's just say there is no straight guy on the face of the earth this obsessed with another guy and his sex life.

That kind of tells it all. Explains just why this deeply closeted nut job is so freaking bitter now. He lived a life that was a lie.

I just re-read kew's lie on GF. He proclaimed less than 48 hours ago that he "wasn't gonna waste another minute on Singer"!!

    Hahahahaha!!!!!!!

Do I owe this chump or not??

All of those are very nice hits Jason. But most here are driven by envy because 95% of them don't have the resources to play at those limits. Just LOOKING at them is infuriating to someone like V or redietz or kew. And jbjb's still sweating. . More likely, they're all trying to talk themselves into how you lost everything you won....and more. Just like how they can't cope with my big VP win, and how your dad HAD to lose every dime he won after hitting those $100k royals.

I wonder....how much of that "EV" did you bank? You do know that phantom bucks are infinitely more important to have than the cash they pay you for these, right?

Yeah the pay-tables could be better but that is the price to pay to play a few minutes from my home.

No one here is going to live long enough to be able to realize the true EV of any pay table. No one here can ever play enough video poker or any casino game to realize its true "return."

My father ran pretty special. He ran on the winning side a lot of the time. I've seen him hit 4AWK, and the first hand drawn after being paid out get dealt 4AWK. He had some pretty amazing runs at VP and some pretty amazing runs at craps. I didn't gamble with him much the last few years, I didn't gamble much the last few years myself... I just started again shortly after his passing, maybe because it makes me think of him I dunno.

But yeah, the people on this forum keep chasing theoretical dollars and use that as an excuse to keep playing and playing. I can also imagine some of the people on this forum are the ones that walk up to Ultimate X machines clicking through each game looking for abandoned multipliers, ugh does it annoy me when people do that...

Slapinfunk, or Jason, whichever you prefer, this simply is not true. This is something I only hear -EV players say, usually justifying to themselves that they play -EV, by basically saying, hey it doesn't make a difference. It does make a difference. -EV and +EV is the difference between winning and losing long-term. And long-term is not the "lifetime" you are making it out to be.

Oh believe me, I'm going to look for edges, but I'm not going to live my life by it. The recent hits at Harrahs So-Cal (the $4K Royal and $10K 4w/A Kicker started with $160 Free Play. Yeah shit pay tables but it didn't cost much out of pocket.

I'm well up for the year playing video poker, and I'm playing nothing near full pay tables..

I am glad you are having a good year.

Just curious, are you adding in whatever it cost to get that free play?

I play blackjack for a living. Maybe that is not a game you play, I have no idea. But depending on the exact rules and decks of the game, blackjack is about a .5% house advantage for a basic strategy player. (or a 99.5% return).

But with card counting that flips to close to a 1% player advantage (101% return). That little bit of a difference between 99.5% return (-EV) and 100.75 to 101% return (+EV) is the difference between losing and the 80K or so I have averaged a year in winnings for 13 years now in Vegas. I mean it is millions of dollars a year wagered to get that 80k or so, but that is all from that small difference between slightly -EV and slightly +EV. A difference of just a bit more than 1%.

I played a couple sessions at Harrahs so-cal before the free-play started. I drove down to see if the progressives me and my father used to play were still there. They got rid of them. First session I played 3 line ultimate X, lost a couple grand. Next trip hit $2 DDB 4AWK for 4K and 2K $1 4x4's w/ Kicker... Left up between those two session... This was after my sun-run on single line Ultimate X at Pechanga.

I can't play blackjack... It stresses me out so much I hate it. Even betting $5 a hand I can't stand it.

If that works for you that is great for you. I work (I'm still in my office now it is 1:33 am as I write this) 10 ours a day at least in my office, not including what I do at home after... I much prefer to play poker (hold-em) but I simply do not have time to play. It is quite difficult to set aside time during the day and not have my phone blowing up with business stuff... By the time I'm done "working" at night, the poker games are dead and I won't play online with all the RTA out there... I see each hand of poker as a mini poker tournament... you either lose, break even, or bink it. I'm certainly no professional player, my session are short and in the middle of the night when there isn't much else going on... and definitely not an every day thing... I'm not grinding 1%... if I were, I'd be playing 8/5 bonus and 8/5 bonus only (it is more entertaining than 9/6 JOB but at least in Bonus I don't hate myself if I hit AAAA).

Casinos don’t live long enough to realize the true EV of their pay tables either.

The reason casinos end up with all the money when they offer -EV games to their players is just because casinos run hot.

Must I post the figures from the mini, minor and major banks to determine if this was a +EV play? Sheesh...

My first MEGA on Wolf Run Eclipse so I was pretty stunned.

    Variance can be strange.

I had two hand pays on EACH of my last two gambling trips.

That never happened before, not that I am complaining.

I'm sure you are familiar with a Double Double Bonus single line video poker so I will assume the 3-Way Action game. I first discovered it in 2012 and it was part of my "controversial" weekend where my father said I hit 4 royals or something. My first time playing it, I was dealt 2 pair, 9's and 7's, and I drew a 9 for a full house, then I drew 2 more 7's and it kept paying and paying, I didn't understand why and then I realized what I hit. That trip I hit some other 4OAK's on the Deal and Draw, and also a 7 card Royal hand where the draw hand was a miss...

It is a fun game. I don't get to play it often as it is only in Las Vegas.

There are three games you are playing:

Deal / Draw / 7-Card based on Double Double Bonus with a 7-card modification.

    1: Deal
-- You are paid on any 5-Card hand delt that is a pair of 3s or better. Unlike "Deal Draw" where you are paid on 5's or better. Dealt royal is obviously the best paying where 4AWK is next etc... Your "Hold" is going to be like any other Double Double Bonus hold for the most part...

    2: Draw
-- Plays like any Double Double Bonus game. There really isn't any special holding strategy where you make any adjustments here.

    3: 7-Card
-- This is where things get interesting. The best paying hand on the 7 card is 4A+3 Kickers... So AAAA222, AAAA333, AAAA444. 15 credit it pays 60,000 credits and 30 credits pays 120,000 credits. Any 4OAK+3OAK pays a premium along with 4OAK 2-4's + 3 A-4's pays 30K/60K. My largest 7 card hit was 2222AAA where I only hit it on the 7 card hand. There is a 7 Card Straight Flush bonus. 7 card hands pay out starting at 3 of a kind.
