I just got dealt four 3s with an ace on 5¢ bonus poker spin poker playing only one line for $10 :-)
The wrong time not to be playing that $25 TDB spin poker machine (if TDB is even on it) with max bet at MGM in Vegas :-)
BTW, those threes came on a lousy 6/5 game. Such is life killing time vulturing...

From my Sunday night unplanned trip to Vegas with Jason and his girlfriend. Caesars Palace gave me $250 of free play and $75 dining credit. I forgot about the free play until just before I checked out Tuesday morning -- ran to Total Rewards and then the cage to get it -- and played it on $5 7/5 Bonus (the 8/5 machines were in use) and cashed out $250 after ten plays.
The big jackpots came Sunday night when I was playing at Caesars (photos below): there's a straight flush and quad aces on $25/coin 8/5 Bonus. Monday was the last day of the Great Gift Wrap Up over at Paris and from my play Sunday night I had enough points to get another $80 in Shell gas cards. I also played a little $2 deuces wild at Paris on the way out and got quad ducks for $2,000 with only $300 in the machine.
There were some other quads as well but not picture worthy.
Dang Alan! You are on fire! Congrats once again!
Alan, I had 5 sets of quad deuces this past week. They were only worth 75 credits a pop. LOL. I noticed the kicker with your deuces was a one-eyed jack. That would have been a nice jackpot for me as well (not as nice as the one you hit).
No one can compete with the red hot Alan, but this gets honorable mention.
Nice hit regnis... and it came in the nick of time for you too!!
You don't know the half of it Alan. It has been a tuff week because I lost a very close cousin. Between the funeral and family stuff my way to relax was to go to the casino for a few hours. I am more a 3-way 25 cent to $1.00 guy---not $5.00 one line. But I really hadn't cashed a winner for hours and just got stubborn and decided to essentially "Martingale" till I got a good winner.
I went up to $1.00 3 way Ultimate X. Then $2.00 one line. Then finally $5.00 one line. This was my last $200 as I had to leave for that nights "shiva". I'm not proud of the chase but got lucky and out.
That is my biggest VP jackpot. I once had a 10G red white and blue but I really don't play VP at that level. So it is doubtful I will ever do it again.
While we're congratulating you on a hit that is OBVIOUSLY all skill, the forlorn AP's on this forum are asking themselves "why....WHY does this have to happen to -EV players when we all know they lose! It's just making our world of BS nonsense THAT much harder to defend!"
I think I wrote about this: when I flew from Tucson to LA after my father-in-law's funeral the plane made a stop in Vegas. We had a plane change with an hour in between flights. I played 25-cent video poker and hit a royal. I called the family (all gamblers) at Shiva and said "Merle (his name) was watching out for me."
Maybe your relative was watching out for you, too.
Congrats, regnis. That is excellent.
I admit I think about Arc whenever I go bowling. As soon as I get my average above 150 I'll be ready to meet up with him. LOL
I've been avoiding this part of the forum lately due to the hostility, but I also want to say a belated congrats to the incredible run you have been having.
I at least understand that you play for recreation and soak in what Vegas has to offer, and not for profit or a revenue stream. Being able to hit big hands at denomination/stakes you normally play increases the amount of time you can play on a negative expectation game.
Alpax, where in the world are you getting that hitting winners on -ev games increases the amount of time you can play? Is that what the hacks on videopoker.com taught you?
A few % or less has nothing to do with profitting on any vp game esp. when you use goals. People get so brainwashed by this ap/+ev baloney, which is why I decided to tell them about it in my columns and books and why my GT publisher fired Dancer in order to get the truth out every week. The goal of playing vp is not to merely "have more time to play". And whether the game is + or - is really irrelevant. If you hit a big winner today, who's to say it won't happen almost every time you play? What leads you to believe that the math must snatch all the winnings back on a 99% game, yet it won't on a 101%er?
Please wise up.
**IF** Rob's strategies actually worked, the casinos would be out of business.
You walk into a casino. How many people do you see playing 25 cent denom? 50 cent? dollar? etc.
Most people are playing at the 25 cent denom. Few are playing at the higher denom.
The same is with Rob's BS (Bullsh**) strategy -- most of the play will be on the 25 cent denom (or whatever the starting denom is). Some will be on higher denom, and a little will be on the highest denom for that strategy.
Given that most players are complete idiots and probably use Rob's "special plays" most of the time ----- not because they know of these special plays, but because they're degenerates and are chasing losses with their idiotic stratgy.....
If you think about it, everyone is playing a part in Rob's strategy. some are at the 25 cent level and others at the $100 level.
If Rob's strategy worked, they'd be out of business.
