I received this press release about the Caesars property Bill's Gambling Hall which has, without a doubt, one of the best locations on the Vegas Strip at the corner of Flamingo and Las Vegas Boulevard opposite Caesars Palace and walking distance from Bellagio and Paris.

The hotel/casino is being closed and renovated starting Feb 4th to become a boutique property that no doubt will cater to the young and rich party goers of Vegas.

Caesars Entertainment to Convert Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall & Saloon to a Boutique Lifestyle Hotel and Club

Caesars Entertainment Corporation has announced its previously arranged $185 million, seven-year senior secured credit facility will fund the conversion of Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall & Saloon to a boutique lifestyle hotel and casino. The conversion includes the complete remodeling of the guest rooms, casino floor and common areas, the addition of a new second floor restaurant and the construction of the 65,000 square foot rooftop pool and dayclub/nightclub. Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall & Saloon will temporarily close on Feb. 4 to accommodate the remodeling. The renovated hotel and casino is expected to open in early 2014, under a new name, while the rooftop club will open later that year.

I miss the old "Barbary Coast". It was a favorite for Chicago horseplayers and had a great lox plate in the coffee shop.
