Thread: Playing plans for 2013 ??

  1. #1
One of our forum friends asked me if I intend to play more or less in 2013? I thought it was a good idea for a thread.

Whether or not I play and how much I play is a function of my entertainment budget. If business is good, and God willing there are no illnesses or other trouble, I hope to keep playing. But it's entertainment -- so there is no "design" and there is no "plan."

However, I can say this: right now, there is no reason for me to go to Las Vegas to play. Some offers from Caesars have come in for the first three months of 2013 and quite frankly there is no reason for me to go based on any of the offers. If by some chance an "offer" coincides with another reason to go such as business or a wedding, I will utilize the offer.

But at this point I don't have any weddings or events or business trips scheduled for the first quarter of 2013.

I am more likely to be playing poker at the local Los Angeles casinos or even just play "free" online poker which costs me NADA and can be just as much fun without the risk of losing money.

However, if I happened to be a millionaire with plenty of money, I would certainly be playing at Rincon every Tuesday for the triple entries for the $2-million in drawings.

By the way, I had to write out a couple of checks today, and yes, I first wrote 2012 and had to make the correction.

I played 235K hands in 2011 and 238K hands last year. Probably play about the same if they don't eliminate my machines.

I'll also probably continue to do what I've been doing since starting our new life--play maybe every other week for an hour or so simply for entertainmen t when we are in Nevada. I haven't expected to win since retiring from pro play and I don't going forward because I have no plan or real structure for my play, but so far I've been very very lucky with the post-retirement royals. I know that will not continue though. Our plan is to stay put in this beautiful area of Nevada until 4/2014 so we can enjoy all the sights, nitelife, mountains, and sample as many of the restaurants as possible from Yosemite to Reno.

    Alan....what's a "check"?

Decreased playing time-probably the loss of my Diamond status. Win goal of only $100. Loss goal the same. Playing a different casino, perhaps. Recreational player, so I have lost my big win hopes. I like playing Rob's strategies, only in limited hands. I mean, heck-what's the difference in 20-30 hands progressing up and down and a couple of hundred hands on the same ole' machine?

Yes, the truth is, I'm one of the few people left in America who writes out checks. I do use online payments for most things like the phone bill, the gas bill, the power bill. But my insurance company requires paper checks for certain policies, and January is when I write them.

Also, when I have to pay markers.... LOL.

Ha! I'm a little slow. That is funny.

Alan....those markers. I don't think you've ever said how often or under what circumstances you use them. So a question: If you DIDN'T have that open credit, would you have more or less money in your pocket today? In other words, has it helped you or hurt you overall? Or is there some other angle I've not considered?

Markers are not an inducement to play, if that's your question. Markers are for "safety" and for convenience. Unlike you, Rob, I would never walk around a casino with big money in my pockets. And I avoid ATM fees like the plague because they are ridiculously high. (There are Bank of America ATMs in the Forum shops that are available 24 hours a day, and I am a BofA customer.)

In fact I usually drive to Las Vegas with less than $200 in my wallet -- which is enough to fill up the car with gas, stop to eat when necessary, and to have some spare change and a few bucks to tip the valet and housekeepers.

Plus, my credit line is my budget -- when it's done, I'm done.

This got me curious. So I went back and checked Singer's address again. Guess what? As of last November he is listed as living in an apartment in Scottsdale. That means he could have provided those documents he promised in October as much as a couple of months ago. Absolute proof that he has been lying about those documents as well as lying about what he has been doing. Is he even in Northern NV now? Could be, but could also be a lie ... which would mean his claims of hitting big royals are also a lie.

I think it's time you admit it Mr. Singer. You are currently a resident of the High Desert State Prison in Nevada serving another 6 years for robbing those casinos of all that money playing the poker machines.

Fess up so we can put this to rest.
