I just took a look at the old photos of progressive jackpots that I hit at Caesars Palace going back about ten years ago. Two of the three were on $5 Bonus games. While the photos do not clearly show the pay tables (they are of me posing next to the machines) with a magnifying glass it appears that the pay tables were in fact 8/5 -- and with a progressive.
Wow.
The progressives at the $5 level are gone from Caesars now though there are progressives at the $1 and 25-cent levels and they have reduced pay tables. I think they are at 6/5.
There are no 8/5 bonus pay tables anymore at Caesars except at the $5 and higher denominations, and even some $5, $25 and $100 Bonus games have a 7/5 pay table.
Times and pay tables have certainly changed.
