I'm no longer a forum rat like I was in days past. I just don't have the time anymore, which I hope most people who want to enjoy retirement will find out. But occasionally, acquaintances from my concentrated video poker days send me posts or threads they think I'll find interesting, or posts that just can't be completed without mention of me--or both.

Today I received a thread from the WoV forum that, besides having my name mentioned in passing for reasons that I didn't bother to research, included a not-so-surprising revelation/admission to me, but was revealing to a lot of gamblers out there who know or have heard of Mike Shackleford.

It seems the Wizard announced he quit that Gambling With an Edge show as Bob Dancer's co-host. Not a big deal to most on that forum as it turned out, because his members mostly couldn't understand why or how he could stand being on the same show as a perpetually horn-tooting vp player and businessman.

But as the Wizard finally came on to perform a semblance of damage control for both him AND Bob, he also came out with a rather startling admission. Whereas most of us always believed his gambling knowledge, gambling wherewithal, and gambling IQ was into the stratosphere--and I will always believe that it is and is at least triple that of Dancer's--he came out with the admission that most of his income is not from winning as an APer (& he says he had a very good football season), but comes from his advertising of several on-line casinos on his various sites! This goes hand-in-hand with both what he told me in person (that he has not won and can't seem to win playing advantage play vp) along with his saying on his forum recently that things just haven't been going well in gambling. And after that recent disastrous "+EV Riv promo" Dancer roped him into going partners with him on, it's all beginning to add up.

It all comes out in the wash, so to speak.
