Thread: Harrah's Rincon releases animation of new facilities

  1. #1
Harrah's Rincon Casino and Hotel in Northern San Diego County is now undergoing construction that will double the size of the hotel, add more casino gaming space, and add a convention center. They released an animation of what the new facilities will look like.

The first series of shots show the new completed complex, with the view of an arrival coming from I-15 Freeway after passing Pala and turning towards Valley Center where Rincon is located.

The second series shows an approach passing the service station plaza which is now open and features a Shell gas station, car wash, 7Eleven and a Subway.

Also in the animation are interior artwork showing the convention area and banquet facilities.

The entire project is supposed to be completed in about a year.

This will put Rincon in a better position to compete with Pechanga but Pechanga's advantage will always be that it is about 20 minutes closer to the I-15 and Rincon will always have to contend with narrow, curvy, mountainous roads which are in fact subject to falling rocks and ice in the winter.

But Rincon's isolated location in Valley Center -- far away from urban areas (Pechanga is in Temecula which is no longer a sleepy vineyard town) will appeal to many who really want a quiet, resort-like area.

And here is the second video showing a redesign of the existing lobby and the entrance to the casino:

It looks like they plan to upgrade the lobby area with some digital screens and maybe some changes to the tile. I hope they keep pumping in that wonderful aroma when you first come through the double set of glass doors. Sometimes I find myself pausing between the set of glass doors to take in a few extra moments of that wonderful fragrance.

As you walk into the casino area, note that a new and fashionable bar area will replace what is now a snack and coffee bar, and if the animation is correct the simple tables and chairs that are there now will be replaced by elegant seating and tables and take a look at the artist's conception of the bar -- high class all the way.
