Jamul Indian Tribe now has a deal with Penn National Gaming to develop their propsed casino that will be in a rural area about 20 miles east of San Diego.

Penn Operates the M Casino in Henderson (Vegas) and certainly has the know-how to do it.

There are supposed to be 1,700 slots and 50 table games. Plus multiple restaurants. About 1,600 are supposed to be employed.

But there is local opposition who say the planned casino would be built in what is now a sleepy Mayberry type town that is served by a two lane road.

Well, for that matter, Pala, Rincon, Valley View, Pauma are also served by two-lane roads. And while I haven't been to Barona, I think Barona also is served by only a two lane road.

San Diego has the biggest concentration of Indian Casinos in California and I'm going to guess for the country.

Construction is supposed to take 24 months. The Penn contract was announced this week.
