Casinos don't do much for the health of their patrons, do they? They allow smoking, they offer games which keep players sitting without exercise, and they literally pour on the free booze and offer endless buffets loaded with desserts and fatty foods.

In my opinion, it's time for some health reform inside the casino industry. I suggest that the casinos start converting their games to gaming that includes exercise. For example:

Casinos should offer their players a choice of 3-pound or 5-pound dice at the new, giant craps tables. Yes, your 3-pound or 5-pound dice must hit the back wall.

There should be a new type of roulette wheel -- a giant wheel -- and instead of dealers rolling the ball, players will take turns rolling a 14-pound bowling ball on a ramp into the giant roulette wheel.

For slot and video poker players -- each machine will come with a bicycle with a generator. If you want to play, you have to spin to make your power to run the game. If you don't pedal enough, you lose credits. If you pedal fast enough, you can get a bonus round on your machine.

Now for some of the traditional table games. Blackjack players have to do push ups for each card they draw, and double the push ups when they split or hit 21.

In the poker room, poker players must run in place between blinds. And the winner of each pot must do either a sit up or a push up. For games with "kill pots" a player must double their sit-ups or push-ups when the blinds go up for multiple wins.

Frankly, just getting rid of smoking would be a big step.
