From what I have seen on the new TV spy water cooler your forum is much better.

Those changes may be just what is needed to get this one really rolling.

Have you looked at it again lately?

Guess who is back, complete with the romper room mentality. So far the moderators have chosen to sit on their hands and not ban anyone. It's just as much a joke as it was before.

I hadn't been here for awhile because nobody was posting. Hope that changes.

I happen to know of several people who have "flagged posts" and have gotten no response. So I emailed the "moderator" to see if they are in fact watching those forums and did not get a reply. You decide what that means.

In the meantime, we have our hands full here with spammers. Each day we delete more than a dozen posts from spammers trying to promote websites for pornography, scams, etc.

The people that run that site are setting themselves up for a serious lawsuit should things continue on their current course.

BTW, their management sent out a 1-month customer satisfaction survey. What a laugh based on what's been going on under their nose! I gave them very low marks and invited them to contact me. We'll see if we get a response, though I'm not holding my breath waiting.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see what that means.

I too, am dismayed to see the quality of the posts on the new site deteriorate so quickly. One does wonder if the moderators see the degradation, don't care, or are unable to correct it.

Probably a little of both--hey as long as the advertisers are happy...

If anyone cared, posts could be edited or deleted, and users banned.

Sure they do. Like I said, someone's gonna go too far and the people who should be monitoring the site will get sued. Then it will be too late.

Unfortunately, most companies that run forums think that they are protected from lawsuits because of various court decisions. Actually, they are protected UNLESS they are first put on notice that there are libelous comments made.

You might never see foul language appear on their forum, and the reason is that there is now software to remove and block foul language. We actually have that software here, on our forum. So various four letter words cannot be posted. However, there is no software that will block libelous comments such as "Joe beats his wife and raped his daughter." To remove that would involve actual, active moderating.

Yes, TV Spy's Watercooler is just about back to what it was at its worst point. But I think the software to block the foul language is the only thing keeping out the four letter words that were used before.

It's a shame. And after what I went through writing that lengthy response early this morning after an all night work session, I'm too tired of it to continue. No one reads that site anymore -- at least not the Watercooler. I dont need the abuse and the anti Semitic comments to take up my time.

But we will keep our Forum open. We were able to install new software to stop most of the spam we were getting and we successfully blocked various ISPs from foreign countries where the spammers were operating pushing their porn and illegal activities.

    Thanks.

I want to commend the folks over at the new TV Spy Watercooler for removing a thread that was being used for anti-Semitic remarks. And they jumped on the problem fast.
