Thread: Rincon Moved the $1 VP Progressive

  1. #1
The $1 Video poker progressive by the casino entrance at the back wall has been replaced by a wall of new slots machines. The $1 VP progressive has been moved to where the poker area is in, at the video poker room. I was told there were no plans to move the 25-cent progressive, but the addition of additional flooring space at Rincon from the construction just might trigger some more locations. If you can't find your favorite games, ask someone where they were moved.

There have been a couple of more moves at Rincon:

The 25-cent video poker progressive games have been moved to near the poker room, and they are right by the $1 VP progressives. There is no overhead sign or any signage to draw your attention to these. The $1 progressives used to have a big sign with the progressive amounts for the royal, quad aces with kicker and quad aces -- but it's not in the new location. See the photo below.

Also -- the non-smoking game section has been moved to near the car port and casino entrance. This is a wonderful change because it means you can walk directly to the non smoking games without having to go through the smoke filled casino.

Prior to this move, the non smoking section was in the middle of the casino and you had to walk thru the smoke to get to it. See the photo below. It shows the exterior doors in the background and the non smoking games as you enter through those doors. In the foreground is the high limit gaming area on the right of the picture.

Thanks for the update Alan. Being a NON-Smoker, I like the move. I'll be there this Friday and Saturday, so thanks again.

Just got home from Harrah`s Rincon. I have to rescind my previous comment about liking the move of the Non-Smoking area. I don't like it. You used to come down the elevators from the parking garage, go past the promotions desk and enter the Non-Smoking area. Now as Alan said it is clear across the casino near the exit doors to nowhere. These exit doors used to exit to the east parking lot, but Harrahs eliminated the east parking lot and is building the new concert hall. What I really care about is that they left the 3 banks of Aces and Faces Bonus Poker and now they are in the Smoking area. On a side note I did hit my second of the year $2 Royal ($8,000). The revised pool area is nice. A lot of action on Saturday with a DJ and a lot of good looking young adults partying. The only negative I might say is that since they (Harrahs) went to all the trouble to build the lazy river, they should have built it a lot longer. But all the kids (and adults) in it did seem to be enjoying it.

I was just told that Rincon is again re-arranging its slot floor and has removed the video poker machines from what used to be the "old" non smoking area. My friend told me he can no longer locate machine #3116 but he said the video poker room now looks to have even more machines and it is very cramped. He also said that the $1 progressive was moved towards the main casino floor and away from the "live poker" room. He said there is still no signage. He was actually distrubed by the cramped conditions in the "video poker room" area. He says the cramped area makes it very noisy with no room for cocktail waitresses to move through the aisles and he was getting bumped.

#3116 Is not on the casino floor along with the rest of that particular row.

I went to Rincon Monday night to check on a few things including whether or not they were raising their full pay video poker games to $25 per tier credit. The answer was "no." Several managers I spoke with said they were unaware of the changes in Vegas, and there were no plans they said, for making changes like that at Rincon.

Actually they would have a difficult time making similar changes since their video poker machines are for the most part multi game machines and there can be full pay Bonus on the machine along with something like 8/5 Double Double Bonus. At Caesars Palace, the machines with the signs for $25 = 1 tier point are single or double game machines such as 9/6 Jacks and 8/5 Bonus.

Also, while I was there I found #3116 -- it is now in the video poker room at the left end of a row of four machines and when you sit at 3116 you will see the exterior wall of the buffet room. To the left of 3116 is the wall of Game King machines inside the video poker room.

I used my free play on the machine and finished with a net gain of $300 thanks to a $2 straight flush on Aces and Faces, and quad Aces for $800. But in between those hands it was a long drought of nothings.

One other change at Rincon: they removed all of the $100 video poker machines and replaced them with $25 games. The change means nothing to me: Ive never played a $100 or a $25 game there.

I was told they moved the $1 progressive machines AGAIN. This time to the far wall of the video poker room. Question: where is the "live poker room" now? I recall some discussion about the live poker room being moved to its own location once the construction is complete.

The live poker Is now behind the Oasis bar where the stage Is until the construction moves It once again.
