The Las Vegas Railway Express (XTRN) has revealed yet another delay in the start of passenger train service between Las Vegas and Southern California.

X Train management had been planning on a test run this coming December, with regular service between Vegas and Fullerton where there is an Amtrak Station to start on January 4, 2014.

Well, in a press release issued on Friday to announce that the company was starting up a service for booking train travel as well as hotel reservations, one paragraph indicated another delay for the start of the X Train.

Here is the paragraph:

Our X Train service from LA to Vegas is still making progress with the major component being the development of a $10 million new station facility here in Las Vegas. That process will take about one more year to complete. We have begun the site planning and architectural and civil engineering and now have our preliminary plans into the City to review and approve. We are on government's timetable here and expect approval by August. Facility construction of this sort takes time and our project is no exception. This item is the pacing item on running our service between LA and Vegas.

The XTRN company plans to renovate the old Amtrak Station that is behind the Plaze Hotel in downtown Vegas. But the renovation is perhaps months away from starting.

There are other delays as well, including the procurement and renovation of passenger cars for the actual train service.

XTRN shares closed on Friday at 8-cents a share, unchanged from the week before.
