Thread: Did Harrah's Rincon Make a mistake with the name of its new pool?

  1. #1
Harrah's Rincon Casino in San Diego County just opened its new pool area called "Dive." Unfortunately the pools in the pool area are not deep enough for diving.

When I asked Rincon on its Facebook page if diving was allowed, the response was:

"No, the pools are not deep enough for actual diving. The name is more of a play on words."

Well, I think it's a bad play on words.

I can just imagine the first lawsuit....

Plaintiff alleges that the defendant misled the plaintiff as to the safety of the swimming pools resulting in the plaintiff's severe spinal damage....

Harrah's Rincon responded to my criticism and wrote:

"Well, I'm sure you've been told to dive into your food, but didn't actually do it ;o)"

    So, I responded with:

"I sometimes do dive into my food. But I can't break my neck when I do. Maybe you should change the sign to this: 'Dive! Lawyers Hit Jackpots Here!'"

It's not like Dive is the most original name in the world -- it's not. There was a Dive Restaurant in Century City that failed, and there are bands called Dive and films with the name Dive in it. And don't forget the many Dive bars our friends have told us about.

It's not too late to rebrand, don't you think?

I assume they didn't change this because they think it's cute or funny. But I can just see a drunk that sees the sign and dives in to the tune of about 40 million when he breaks his neck.

To make matters worse they are promoting the pool as the "Dive Day Club"

    See their website: http://www.divedayclub.com/
