Thread: WGs from a printer

  1. #1
    Hello to everyone:
Just an interesting info-last weekend I went to AC and that was a very good trip(4 WGs,2 Royals-$1; one using Mr. Singer special play, drop a pair, hold just an A, got 4As +4 on $1 and one on $5-just for a four of kind).
What was interesting, that when an attendant brought me my first WG-it was 5 copies, printed on laser printer and they made me to sign all 5 copies, kept one, gave me four… next day-the same thing-5 copies, but I was only requested to sign one…
Only explanation they gave-that they use a laser printer to produce WG from now on…
What also was different-it was Player state ID # entered…never saw it before in NJ…
    Any ideas?

odinoka: I would actually consider that a blessing because I always make several copies of any W2G's for redundant storage. If the casino is going to make the copies for you I would just be thankful they're taking on the copying hassle themselves.

Thanks for joining us and congratulations on the wins. I don't know what the procedure is in NJ but the procedures here in California and Nevada vary with the casino. Sometimes you will get a temporary W2G and then the "real" W2G comes in the mail weeks or even months later. I would prefer any system that gives you the "real" W2G right then and there so you don't have a collection of "temporary" and "real" W2Gs at home.

Unless the law is different where you are, the only reason to attach a copy of a W2G to a tax return is if there was withholding from the jackpot so usually one original plus one copy is all you need. Sometimes I've gotten six copies in the mail.
