Thread: San Manuel Indian Bingo & Casino in Highland

  1. #1
I had a half hour today while I was in the Inland Empire earlier today to stop by and take a look at the San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino facility. It was my first time -- and the place was huge and it was packed at 4:30-pm on a Saturday afternoon. We actually had trouble finding a parking place in the self serve garage. Then it was a long walk (with moving sidewalks to help) from the parking garage to the actual two-story casino. Yes, there is a valet that gives easy access, but we just wanted to check the place out and didn't even think about the valet.

The moving sidewalks were a nice feature. But I think the most interesting part of the journey into the casino was when I left a moving sidewalk and walked over what I thought was just a glass tile floor. What I didn't realize right away was that it wasn't just an ordinary glass tile floor -- but it was a glass floor above an atrium with trees and a waterfall under my feet. My initial reaction was one of fear -- would I fall through? Of course not. And then when I felt safe and secure (and I was) I enjoyed the view below. See the photo.

When I was actually in the casino I was impressed with the size of the place and how crowded it was. I actually saw people waiting for a chance to sit at slot machines. But there were few table games. My first stop was the men's room and I liked what I found. it was a "touch free men's room" with no need to touch the flush on the urinals, and the sink and soap dispenser were touch free and the paper towel dispensers were the kind that had the towels ready to pull out. I also liked that there was no door with handles at the entrance/exit. Perfect. Photo of the touch free sink is below.

Next stop was the find their version of craps and we couldn't immediately spot a table, but we did see a roulette game. We didn't have time to really look for their craps, because our main purpose was to check out their video poker. We were on the second floor of the casino and a casino employee told us to look on the first floor and that's where we went.

On the first floor we found very few video poker games and for the most part the pay tables were not exceptional. Jacks or Better at $1 had 8/6 -- while Pechanga has 9/6 and Rincon has 8/5. Bonus Poker had 7/5 pay tables -- and there is 8/5 at Rincon and Pechanga. The surprises came with two other games: triple double bonus and double double bonus.

There is a 25-cent double double bonus progressive with a 6/5 paytable. That's horrendous. At Rincon the progressive at 25-cents has an 8/5 pay table.

There were plenty of $1 level the Triple Double Bonus games. See the photo below. I need someone to please take a close look at this paytable. I wish I had taken a photo of the full pay table, but I only took the photo of the first column as you see below.

And the $1 Double Double Bonus games also beat what they have at Rincon but it's the same as Pechanga. See the photo below.

Sorry Alan I can't read the pay table. I'll try and stop by San Manuel this week to try and find these machines.
