Thread: Roulette "secrets"

  1. #1
I don't care how many times the "experts" will say this is impossible, but I was at a demonstration at a Vegas casino where an experienced roulette dealer targeted and hit a four-number segment on a roulette wheel twice in a row.

there was no funny business -- nothing was rigged.

It was a single 0 wheel if anyone think that makes a difference.

I am posting this because of the discussion -- or lack of discussion -- about roulette on the other thread about the WOV forum.

A few points >>> Twice in a row is nothing impressive. Lets see in 40 attempts, how many times he hits it. Also, what was the WHEEL and BALL speed? Very important.

Even if this person had this "skill", 95% do NOT and thats a good thing for me. Why? I'm not the funnest guy at the table nor do I ever tip.

Meaning, I would hate a pissed off dealer spinning against me. Even when that does happen (and it has), there are safety features I have built in. I'll put my couple chips on a
double street (6 numbers), wait for him/her to spin, then I put the chips where I ACTUALLY want them.

Very interesting... fool the dealer with the skill.

Is Roulette the only game in which you can "past Post" ?? I can't think of another. Try it in craps and you might get back roomed.

As far as I know, yes. Roulette is the ONLY casino game I play. I have read in regards to some other casinos, they will call "no more bets" BEFORE the ball is spun. Its suppose to cut down on cheating.

It's not "past posting." You can change your bets for a certain period of time after the dealer spins the wheel and releases the ball.

Yeah, I have seen many times a player TRY and sneak a green or black chip onto a number after the wave off or WORSE, after the ball is already in the pocket, funny stuff.

I know--I understand you can bet after the ball has been started until the dealer waves you off. In craps, they won't allow bets as the dice are flying. In BJ, you can't change your bet as the dealer is dealing the cards. No sports bets after the game has started (obviously other than half time bets, etc. Horse racing, machines lock when the race starts. So I think it's the only game that allows bets while the ball is in action. So I find it odd they allow betting after the spin starts in roulette.

I think it's because the spin and the ball take some time to resolve that they allow betting to continue.

In craps, some casinos have a strict about "no call" bets meaning that all bets must be made and booked and acknowledged by the dealers prior to the actual toss of the dice. But I have been in casinos where "call bets" have been made with the dice in the air and the dealers will acknowledge it with "bet." But usually it is followed with a warning to make all bets at the proper time. they will allow the call bets, it seems, when a regular at the table perhaps is distracted or adds on a late bet such as a horn and not for regular place bets.

"So I find it odd they allow betting after the spin starts in roulette" >>> I love witnessing the AP (cough) goofs WATCHING the wheel (and ball).......they quickly lay down there 5 number bets, all side by side on the wheel. They are NO MORE correct compared to other people betting on 5 random numbers. In their head though, they feel they are on top of the world. Hey, its not a lie if you believe it.
