I posted some of this on the California Casinos forum.

If I want to go to a casino in September, Caesars in Las Vegas is where I will get the better free play deal, as well as the better value on promotions.

Ironically Harrah's Rincon is where I scored most of my play and tier points in 2013, but Rincon has now cut my offers to such a low level that it doesn't make sense to make the drive there for daily or weekly offers.

So, I won't be going to Harrah's Rincon in September, except for maybe one visit on one day.

My offers from Rincon in San Diego just came in for the month, and frankly, they suck.

My monthly free play cash back is what I expected and what is normal for me: $295.

But my weekly offers suck: $80 per week. It costs me about $40 in gas to make the trip there.

My weekly food offers have also been cut by 40% but that doesn't matter since I rarely eat there.

There are some daily offers that have come in the mail in the last week and they are down as much as $110 per day -- again not making a daily trip worthwhile.

My best one day combination where I can combine offers would give me a total of $115 plus $295 for a total of $410. And I will make that one-day trip sometime during the month. But that's all.

After I use the monthly cash back of $295, it appears my next best day for combining offers will be worth $195 -- less the $40 in gas.

The point is this: free play is good, but now, when my offers from Caesars in LV are worth $1,000+ it makes more sense for me now to forgo the quick day trips to Rincon and save up for a "better free play value" at Caesars in Vegas.
