CET Diamond Aspirations Level III Trip: How To Book?

I read through your tips on booking the Seven Stars trip on this forum and the PFA forum. I just made Seven Stars this week, so I am looking to use the $1,200 airfare credit in the near future.

I want to use the free flight portion only and take my own vacation. So let's say I am looking to book two tickets JFK-Lindbergh Field. Now per annual trip requirement (or maybe not?), my host has to book a room at Harrah's Rincon as part of the trip and flight, right? So following your suggestion, I call up Rincon after Passport confirms the tickets, and tell them I can't make it, please give the room to someone else.

Now I have a nice little non-gambling vacation, and all I have to do is rent a car at the airport. I use my Hilton HHonors Rewards or book rooms on Kayak for a hotel in the city, maybe close to the zoo.

Will I still have the $500 dinner credit to use later (say, at Morton's in Atlantic City) when I am back in New York City, or is that forfeited if I cancel my room at Rincon?

As far as 7 star trip - it includes $1200 airfare and $500 resort credit when you check in. If you don't go to the resort, you won't be able to use the $500 food/beverage/etc credit at that resort.

As a 7 star- you do get a $500 celebration dinner that is a separate benefit.

Since you made diamond this year too - you have a $100 dinner available too if you haven't used it yet.

Once you reached $150K tier, you get another 7 star trip with the same airfare and $500 resort credit.

I did take my $100 dinner earlier this year at Caesars AC. Actually I used it along with several diamond booklet coupons in April and the bill totaled more than $500!

I guess I can drive to Harrah's Rincon by myself and use up the $500 resort credit at the gift shop, no need to waste it if it's only 50 miles from the airport.

I always tip a limo driver twenty bucks for any ride. # of bags has nothing to do with tipping unless you're getting help checking into or out of a hotel. That standard is similar to valet parking at the casino resorts & hotels around Nevada. I must have used valet a thousand times, and I give everyone the same amount: $1, whether it's at a dump like Sam's Town, a place like the Hard Rock or Palms, or at the world's most luxurious properties like Bellagio, Wynn, Aria, etc. They're all doing the same service.

nerakil, I hope you kept every bit of that $3440 and did not hand away any of your gambling winnings to the people who's job it is to bring you the cash. Would they have come by and tipped YOU had you walked out a loser for you providing them a service of helping them keep their jobs?

True! Or bring your friends and have a great dinner there.

By the way - if this is your first year to make 7 star - you can really double dip. You can use your 7 star trip, $500 celebration dinner, cruise, etc by March 31 and then starting the next day- you get all the benefits again until March 31 of the following year.

My DH wanted to know about the machine you were playing that you hit the HP on. Was it single line and how many quarters at a time. - and what did you hit to get such a big handpay?

I think your $500 dinner credit is canceled. So why cancel Rincon? If you have a car you just as easily can stay at Rincon and travel anywhere in So Cal including Los Angeles in two hours or less. San Diego proper is 45 minutes away. Disneyland area is 45 minutes away. Why burn your credits with the other reward program?
