Thread: Harrah's Rincon Great Gift Wrap Up Bonus in November

  1. #1
Harrah's Rincon Casino in November will offer the same GGWU bonus it had in October: if you swipe your card on certain days you get bonus points.

The dates are Nov 8, 9, 10, 17, 23 and 24 which are too late for the Nov 7-11 GGWU at the Flamingo but okay for the December GGWU at Caesars Palace:

    December 4 - 8, 2013
    Caesars Palace
    10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. PST

In November, each "date" was worth 31,250 points for a swipe for me-- plus extra points if I played. How many points you get varies with your play history.

This gives me a reason to not go to the Flamingo event and to add more points for the December event.

I know you were thinking about the Flamingo, with this info are you just going to skip it and focus on this? Also can you double dip on swipes or is it every 24 hours? Like going the night of the 8th, getting a swipe and then getting a swipe at midnight on the 9th.

My fear is that some unexpected event will pop up with work or health and I wont be able to make the trip in December. So I am going to "get" what I can "get" in November and if I get lucky maybe go back for another trip in December.

At Rincon the "new day" starts I believe at 6am so you'd have to do the double swipe trick at 6am. they used to have the date change at midnight but they altered that about a year or so ago.

Well whatever you choose, good luck Alan and I hope you give us a write up afterwards. Like reading your trip recaps when you post them.

The bonus days for November May have
been cancelled. You might want to check
if they are still offering the kiosk promo.
There is no mention of the promo on their
    website as of today.

the bonus days in November came in a mailer, and to be honest, I questioned it when I received it. The reason I questioned it is that the GGWU site says that all bonuses must be credited by November 1st. The TR folks at Rincon told me it takes up to two weeks for bonuses earned at Rincon to be credited. And the combination of those two (Nov 1 deadline on the GGWU site + the two weeks to post the bonus credits) got me wondering how "November bonuses" could possibly be offered for the December event at Caesars?

I put in a call. Good catch, Dante.

All bonus points are added within 72 hours. All of my points are current.
You might want to check the point balance page to verify your individual account.
Btw.the folks at Rincon TR desk are useless. They may be nice and polite.
But, if you need answers then you're barking up the wrong tree.

On their Facebook page, Harrah's Rincon posted that the November offer is still "on" --

"The Great Gift Wrap Up points for the Flamingo event must be credited by November 1, but our event is for Caesars so that's why the dates don't match. The November dates are correct."

Just off the phone with my host at Rincon who said she would check with TR to see if all of my GGWU Bonus points have been added to my account (I think there is a discrepancy) and my host says there has been a delay with many accounts. I said I needed to have as accurate an accounting as possible to prepare my "shopping list" for the first event date.

I also had a problem where I had enough play for the "additional bonus" but the kiosk machine failed to recognize the additional play. I brought that to the attention of TR and they confirmed my extra play and said it would take an adjustment by a human to fix my account.

I'll let you know what happens.

    Alan,

You are correct. Just received confirmation that the GGWU dates for
    November are indeed back on.

And I just got an email from my host who says all of my GGWU points were added to my account. I asked her to check a specific issue: whether or not my "extra" credits were also added when I played enough to earn the tier points necessary for the "extra bonus." It is these "extra bonus points" that I believe were not added.

In hindsight, I wish I had kept track of each days tier points and then I could ask them if the GGWU points that were added matched that play. But I didn't.

Alan do they let you roll all your points over to the December event or do you have to choose going to the Flamingo to cash them in or going to Harrah's Rincon to bank some for the Caesar's one?

  13. #13
You can go to either or both events.

My host has referred my follow-up question to Total Rewards. As I explained these "extra points" did not appear to show up. I regret not keeping track.

Update: I checked my GGWU account this morning and another 170,000+ points appeared on my account -- so this must be the "bonus points" from Rincon. My total is close to $3300 worth of gas cards (if I use all of it towards gas cards) which is what I expected.

I am curious if any of you were at Rincon for the "bonus dates" for the December GGWU at Caesars and if your bonus points from Rincon showed up yet in your online account? I was at Rincon for only one of the bonus dates and I just checked my online account and it does not appear that the bonus is showing. I have some points on my online account but they are less than what the "bonus" was which makes me think that only "regular play" points are showing up.

I just checked and the Bonus from Rincon in November just showed up on my online account summary.

    Hi Alan,

I just wanted to comment on this post. I just returned from Ceasers GGWU and I thought I had 158,000 points. I swiped my card at the event and I had close to 300,000 points! I did participate in some of the GGWU booster swipes at Rincon and also spent a few days earning the "bonus tier credits" for playing a certain amount. However, my updated balance when I drove out on Monday was the 158,00 still on the net, so I was quite pleasantly shocked to have twice that amount upon arrival. I have searched the internet and found one person posting about receiving more GGWU points for booking a stay under the "GGWU Offer" in Total Rewards...But I booked under a show offer so....not sure how I ended up with that many. It must be the booster events, but I just don't know. But to give you a quick report, I ended up getting $925.00 in Gift Cards although I was also seriously considering a Camera from Cannon. It broke down into: $400.00 Shell Gas Cards, $400 T.J. Maxx, $100.00 Toys R Us , $ 75.00 Cabellas.

I LOVED the V.I.P. entrance to Ceasers when we drove up, so amazing! Will post more in another thread. The entire experience was fantastic and the GGWU had a flow of people int he morning ( Wed the 4th) but not crowded which was great.

Upon check out there were only 4 people ahead of me and when I left and went down to Valet I could see the crowds arriving.....I would suggest to anyone for next year to definitely get in a day or so early and enjoy and then do the first morning and leave before the huge crowds arrive. They had everything set up including the lines laid out for big crowds arriving.

Anyway, just wanted to post and I need to follow up on the $100,000.00 slot tournament I went to with all of those comments. Will do in the next day

Best and thank you for your site. P.S. I have a lot more to add about this trip to Ceasers, it was AMAZING! But will do in another post once I have some rest..I just got in after driving back Thanks again

Lizzy, you were smart to get gift cards. Those are the best value. The electronics are marked up in price.

What VIP entrance are you talking about? Are you referring to the Augustus Tower entrance off Flamingo?

Caesar's is a very nice property, but it is laid out terribly (because of the awkward and repeated expansions since it was first built in the '60s.)

The self park is in a TERRIBLE location (convenient to nothing), the front desk is in a strange location if you're in any tower except Octavius and Augustus, and the whole place is like a confusing maze.

Also, they made a big mistake in appointing Central as its 24 hour cafe, since you cannot use any kind of comp there (except RCs), so if it's after 11pm, and you want to use your food comp, you are out of luck.

Dan, in the other thread I told how I expected to see about 60,000 points for the Caesars event from some play plus one Rincon bonus event (remember I cashed in points already at Flamingo). But my online account showed more than 461,000 points which is why I made a fast dash to go up there. In the other thread I said there must be other bonus offers that for one reason or another did not show up in time for the Flamingo event.
