Thread: Rob Singer has been banned.

Timing has been done. It was around 20 years ago before the continuous shuffle. Search on "Hacking the Casinos for a Million Bucks"

I am enjoying the banter and the over analysis of my "I hit the button" (calling Dr. Venkman, Dr. Stantz, and Dr. Spengler). The absurdity of all this sure beats the overwhelming stench of acrimony now since dissipated.

I received an email from Rob (which surprised me) and I responded. I think that for once, Rob sent me some sincere, personal thoughts, and I responded likewise. I am hoping (really hoping) to have something positive to say here soon.

I felt the biggest problem with Rob here was his insistence upon repeatedly terribling up every thread with the same chiding of people, along the lines of, "You're doing exactly what CET wants, obsessing over titles & comps".

I don't mind that he felt this way, but he would literally ruin every thread with that same nonsense.

If he could tone that down, I wouldn't mind him back.

I thought he shut you off from the texting? Isn't he going to do what he says he's going to do? A true, actual divorce?

Alan: It's obvious you're a very nice guy, but you really have to draw a line somewhere. A permanent line. A true, no-bullshit line or people just walk all over you by initially wiggling their way back in with silver-tongued platitudes and it only goes downhill from there.

    Just my two cents..

Apologies for making two posts in a row, but upon more reflection I realized Rob has poor Alan in a trap:

    a) Rob has chastised Alan many times for not "doing what he said he was going to do."

    b) Alan says he is going to ban Rob

    c) Rob writes back to Alan trying to make things good again (and presumably to invite back to the forums).

    d) This will violate Alan's original banning discipline, which eventually gives Rob yet another good excuse to chastise Alan for not doing what he said he was going to do.

There's a term that vaguely relates to this type of manipulative trap: Focus Creep and/or Scope Creep. Politicians and lobbyists do this stuff all the time!

If someone criticizes you for doing something wrong, yet that same person encourages you to partake in the action that they're criticizing you for....you are truly in a no-win situation and I would advise leaving the scene altogether.

Let me explain something here: Rob has been a valuable asset to the video poker and gaming community. Many of us do not agree with his strategy or systems or beliefs, but it is still important that they be heard.

My only problem with Rob has been his failure to be a "good community member." Frankly, he has been the worst.

Rob has sent some personal thoughts to me which at this time I will not make public. I have offered to Rob an opportunity to return here if he will follow certain rules that would return him to being a "good community member."

The ball is in his court.

Rob will not be returning. I am closing this thread.
