So I never really bothered to figure out the formula for the Great Gift Wrap Up.
I had about 330,000 points in 2012, which translated into about $1100.
I had earned about 140k tier points in 2012. I participated in a few Great Gift Wrap Up bonus events but not enough to significantly affect my point earnings. I also earned all tiers the "old fashioned way" -- without bonus tiers which were invented in 2013.
This year I also participated in a few bonus events. I have earned 122k tier points so far, but only about 41k worth of "regular" tier points, with the other 81k being of the bonus variety.
I currently have 222k worth of GGWU points.
Now, that by itself isn't alarming, but I had something like 207k when I had just 78k tier points (and only about 26k worth of regular play).
So I wondered, why am I earning GGWU points so much slower?
I went to their site and read this:
So basically since I earned 15,000 RCs, I get 15,000 GGWU points, which is worth just $50! Weak!
Now here's what confuses me.
Let's look at my GGWU points versus my RCs earned prior to this recent play:
I had earned about 26,000 RCs, but I had 207,000 GGWU points!
Since then, I earned 15,000 RCs, but only got 15,000 more GGWU points!
So how did I get so many extra points? I did do some events, but it doesn't account for this huge difference.
I have a feeling that they lowered the "base" earning of GGWU points at some point this year.
Like maybe you went from earning 3 GGWU points per RC to 1 per RC, or something like that.
Anyone know?
