Thread: Tesla Giveaway at Rincon December 15

  1. #1
I received a mailer from Rincon today which surprised me: a drawing on December 15, Sunday, for a Tesla.

The surprise is that there wasn't much notice about this. I would have thought that a Tesla giveaway would generate a lot of interest and would have been promoted more heavily.

Players will earn one entry for each tier credit earned between 6am Friday Dec 13 (Friday the 13th) and Sunday at 1:30pm the 15th. The drawing is at 2pm.

There will also be four winners of $1,000 free play drawn in addition to the one Tesla Model S.

What is interesting is that my mailer shows I am receiving a certain number of "complimentary entries" and it is an odd number which makes me think it represents the number of tier points earned perhaps over a previous month. Since I don't keep track of tier points earned and so I am really not sure. But, it's a lot of "entry points" so I just might show up for the drawing.

Oh, I also have some free play on Sunday -- $130 plus my weekly money. I don't know what my weekly money is for December as that mailer hasn't arrived yet. There will also be a monthly cash back bonus for December (mailer not yet arrived) so I might use that on Sunday the 15th as well.

Rincon has a charging station there, so I expect a full charge will be included with the car.

In other words, this is more evidence to add to the pile that CET drawings are semi-rigged.

It is "semi rigged" if you think that casinos should operate by the principal of one-man, one-vote for casino drawings and promotions.

Hopefully the giveaway isn't sponsored by the movie "Catching Fire".

The problem is that I bet the people receiving 0 complimentary entries don't realize that others are starting out immediately with the odds stacked in their favor.

They are promoting that you can earn entries through tier credits, but they neglect to mention that some whales may already have an obscene number of comp entries that will make it difficult for anyone else to win.

    These drawings just aren't honest.

Product-related sweepstakes are forced to reveal the true odds of winnings. They do this so you don't buy thousands of packs of Starburst because you want a shot at the million dollar sweepstakes prize. When you see that the odds are 1 in 20 million, you realize that you can pretty much forget about ever winning it.

I wish casinos were required to disclose, at the very least, how many comp entries are handed out TOTAL, so you can know if racking up tier credits for the contest is worth your time and money.

At the monthly drawings when they give away the $1,000 free play plus the $50,000 grand prize, I make it a point to stop at the promotions desk to find out how many "entries" the $1,000 winners have. I have been to about half of the monthly drawings. There is always at least one player with only ONE tier credit (you get one credit just for swiping your card) who gets called for a $1,000 free play prize each week. Is that also rigged?

I had planned on maxing out the cash give away on December 14th to get entries for the drawing but knowing there are lots of free ones out there I have second thoughts if it is worth it now. Any idea if they have given away many free tickets for the November monthly drawing? I earned about 300,000 tier credits but if there are lots of free ones that may not be all that much.

HKMHORNS, I Believe only basic tier credits earned from October 26 thru November 30
Are used for the November monthly drawing. BASIC TIER credits for the whole year
Due count for the million dollar giveaway on January 1st. And I think the only people
Who get free credits are the ones who go to the invitation only dinner and win a multiplier
    Of their tier credits.

I think it is pretty clear to everyone that these drawings have entries based on play or tier credits earned from play. That disclosure makes the contests fair because you know going in what you are up against.

I think anyone saying the contests are rigged is just expressing a lot of sour grapes.

Besides, you are not being charged for these contests -- they are "extras" or "bonuses." In fact, in accordance with the lottery laws in California, everyone gets one free entry just for showing up or swiping your card or for being a TR member.

I think it's time to stop the complaining.

I've never won a big drawing at any casino and I don't complain. I realize what the odds are going in and I realize that the big players have an advantage.

I pretty much agree with Alan. I don't complain but it would be nice to know. I completely understand why casinos give away so many entries so it doesn't bother me too much. At least for the future I will be on the mailer so I can kind of see when people are getting free tickets and kind of try to figure out how many. These drawing are kind of a long drive from Vegas so I just try to make sure it is worth it.
