Thread: Caesars Las Vegas Drawings for December 28th

  1. #1
Four different Caesars properties in Las Vegas will have drawings on Saturday, December 28. Players who receive the invitation to the drawings can participate in all four drawings or just one. To participate in a drawing you must visit the casino and activate your entry, probably by swiping your Total Rewards card.

The drawing times are noon at the Rio, 3pm at the Flamingo, 6pm at Paris and 9pm at Caesars. To be honest, that's a lot of travelling around from one casino to another and since it takes time to get from one casino to another I think the real winners here will be the cab drivers expecially those taking players from the first drawing at the Rio to the Flamingo for the 3pm drawing.

The invitation comes with a certain numbe of entries for each drawing at each casino and the total of the drawings is $250,000. It appears there are various prizes at each casino.

My invitation to the event includes five nights plus $1,000 of free play.

Actually it's not a bad offer because it's cheaper to walk from casino to casino on Saturday than it is to play. Again, I think Caesars is making a mistake requiring players to check in and activate their entries at all four casinos.

A couple of points which I never spotted before:

In the fine print it says that the free play cannot be divided up into more than ten coupons. So if I want table play, I would get ten one-hundred dollar coupons. For slots and video poker, also the maximum number of coupons would be ten in case I wanted to change machines.

Now the tough part: I doubt they would let me take advantage of this since I have reservations for New Year's and the NYE event. I think Total Rewards has rules that offers must be "separated" by three, four or five days.

Alan, it's not as hard as you think.

The rule is that you need 48 hours between offers. There used to be ways around this, but in 2013 they have become very hard line with this rule.

By "48 hours", I mean you need to be checked out of ALL properties in that market for 2 nights.

Here is what I would suggest:

    1) Call and ask if you can qualify for the offer by staying for ONE night starting December 27th (checking out 4pm the 28th).

    2) If so, make a 1-night reservation under this offer.

    3) Change your New Year's reservation to start on December 30th, thus satisfying the 2-night window (you can do this at the same time with the rep or host, so you can be able to book this offer on the 27th and get it.)

    4) Book somewhere else and pay for it for the 28th and 29th nights.

Gee, Dan, sounds like a lot of work you "advantage players" go through.

It's a little bit of work, but it's $1000 of free play. Don't you want it?

Isn't this site called "Alan Best Buys"?

I don't understand why Vegas won't let you combine offers. We are going in a couple of days and they told me that I could only use one offer and no comp CP concert ticket. They combine all offers at my local and also at Reno and Lake Tahoe and Tunica. If I have an offer for freeplay for the weekend, and if they are having an event, and a concert or whatever - they will be book me for all events.

I am going to Lake Tahoe in a couple of weeks for a Wine Holiday event. I also had another offer for hotel room and 700 free play until Dec 30. Also a separate offer for comp commercial airfare/hotel. They let me combine everything plus reimburse airfare.
(Note: it probably makes a difference that my ADT is around 800 at Tahoe - I think it is a little over 500 at Vegas)

    Let's look at costs involved:

I need to pay for a hotel for two nights, right before New Year's Eve. Estimated cost $250
Food for two days, and I eat cheap. $200
Incidentals for 2 days including tips, snacks, gas if I want to go sightseeing $100

total low end without making a bet for two days in Vegas $550... to get $1,000 of free play??

Is that really a "best buy"?? It's not investing $550 to get a thousand in cash... it's free play.

I have another "opportunity cost" which is the price I pay for being in Vegas for an additional two days and not being available for work. After all, my life does not revolve around Vegas.

They are doing their best to cut down on comps and offers, and one way to do that is to stop the combining of offers.
I guess it was almost a year ago that Rincon altered daily offers so that they could be redeemed between 8am and midnight. Previously, they were valid for 24 hours, which means at 11:59pm and then again at 12:01am you could redeem two daily, sequential offers.

Back when offers were redeemable at midnight, there were many of us who would show up at the casino around 11pm-ish and play the first offer and then at midnight play the second. it's not that easy.

You still can sometimes redeem multiple offers on one day but it's tougher.

On December 1 I get a weekly offer, a special Sunday offer and my monthly rebate which will make it worthwhile for me to go there -- three offers in one day.
