I heard that the CET Tier point rewards changes will come out later this month - prior to the start of the calendar year….Any insight / rumors ???

I called a few people who said "nothing has been announced" which tells me nothing.

    This is not surprising.

In fact, a LACK of changes would be surprising!

The new system rewards "Seven Stars grinders" who have the bankroll to play 2500 tiers in one day. It also greatly discourages play AFTER 2500 tier credits in a day, which is a bad thing for CET.

The change for 2013 (raising tier point requirements but instituting the new bonus tier credits) was made in order to fight local, low-limit grinders who played a little bit each day and earned Diamond or Seven Stars.

The Diamond and Seven Stars programs were invented to cater to high limit players. While CET likes having locals who come to the casino often and grind, they don't want to give them the Diamond/Seven Stars perks. In fact, being able to earn these perks by grinding low limits discourages these players from wanting to try playing higher.

Unfortunately for CET, this created a situation where well-rolled players came in, played 2500 tiers, and quit. It also allowed careful grinders to reach Seven Stars after just 50,000 base tiers (20 sessions, where before it required 40 sessions), and Diamond after just 5,000 base tiers (2 sessions, where before it required more than 4 sessions). By "sessions" I'm referring to 2500 tiers.

I have a feeling that they are going to be changing things again to make it more difficult to make Diamond and Seven Stars.

Hopefully they will be making other changes to allow a cash option instead of taking the annual trip or eating the annual $500 dinner, though I'm guessing they won't.

I think Dan is right on target. There will surely be changes and the "bonus" system will be one of them. This may be my last year as Seven Star member.

I've said this many times: there aren't many differences between 7 Stars and Diamond and I've never made use of my full 7 Stars benefits... and because it is impossible to combine certain 7 Stars benefits on individual trips (requiring more trips) it becomes even less important for anyone to be a 7 Stars player.

I think the whole thing is overly hyped and if there are changes that mean I will be Diamond in the future then so be it.
