Thread: Improvements to Seven Stars program we'd like to see

  1. #1
Nobody of consequence at Caesar's will read this, but nonetheless, here is a partial list of what I'd like to see improved about the Seven Stars program. These improvements are all reasonable (i.e. won't cost Caesar's much) and yet I think they would be welcomed by most players.

    1) Seven Stars self parking, with pass. Rincon has this, but it's a joke, since it requires no pass and anyone can use the spots. It would be a great perk to have close-by parking for Seven Stars, with signs warning non-members they could be towed without the proper pass. The Rio does this for select local players (and patrols the lot for people sneaking in), but not Seven Stars. They already have priority valet parking. Why not self?

    2) More options for annual gift and/or freeplay exchange. The selection for the annual gift sucks, to the point where it's ridiculous. It was hard for me to find something I wanted. Given that the highest valued gift was worth about $200, why not just allow players to take $100-150 freeplay in lieu of the gift?

    3) Trade in annual trip for freeplay. Many people don't have the time or flexibility to take the annual trip. Others just hate traveling. While some of the purpose of this trip is to force the gambler to visit another CET property, they could keep their Seven Stars players happy by just letting him redeem it at his home casino, and getting freeplay (maybe $750-$1000) in lieu of the $1200 airfare.

    4) Seven Stars customer service line. There are so many customer service FAILS at Caesar's properties, and it's maddening to get them resolved. It would be great if we had a number we could call, reach an intelligent person who understands CET operations, who could then reach out to the right people to solve the problems. Larger properties could have this line in-house.

    5) Seven Stars discounts at all CET-owned restaurants. These vary from property to property right now, but typically you get some lame $2-per-entree discount for being a Total Rewards member of any type. They have such a high profit margin at these overpriced restaurants. Why not give a break to the Seven Stars players?

    6) Discounts and auto-upgrades to shows. Seven Stars members have two options if they want to see a show. They can get it comped by their host (if they've earned it, and if they've already spent all of their RCs), or they can pay regular price (either cash or RCs). There should always be a discount for Seven Stars members, or at least an auto-upgrade-to-best-available-seats starting from an hour before showtime.

    7) Limited number of "second free room" redemptions. Something I found annoying was that I could get a free room any time, but if I wanted to bring friends, I couldn't even get them a discount. Your host can sometimes get you a second room comped, but that's always based on your recent play. Seven Stars should get a set number of "second free rooms" they can reserve per year or per month. It shouldn't be unlimited (like the first room reservations), but if they even gave me 10 days of these per year, I'd be happy.

    8) Free play in lieu of annual $500 dinner. Some people aren't into fine dining. Others don't have enough people to take to these meals, as none of their friends or family ever travels to the casino with them. You should be able to take a freeplay option, say $300, instead of the $500 meal. If not, you should at least be able to split up the $500 over several meals, perhaps by way of ten $50-off coupons good at any CET-owned restaurant.

    9) Minibar allowance. Some properties give you "Seven Stars bags" when you check in, filled with goodies. Why not just allow each Seven Stars member to spend up to $15 on the minibar in any given stay? This would cost very little, yet be highly appreciated.

    10) Remove extraneous offers which are not compatible with Seven Stars members. Tired of getting offers for "3 free nights at Harrah's Kansas City" when you can get that anytime you want as a Seven Stars benefit? They should stop cluttering our mailbox and offer list with such nonsense, and eliminate stupid offers which either duplicate or contradict what we're already entitled to.

    Any other ideas?

I like your ideas, but anything to improve the choice for the player will likely lead to higher costs for the company and therefore won't be implemented. We all know about "planned obsolescence" well some of these offers are "planned failures" meaning that the company offers them knowing that only a small percentage will be redeemed.

Dan, I'm voting for you for chairman of the CET Board of Directors -- even though I don't have a vote.

I would also vote for Dan except he left out 1 improvement that I require:

Twice, upon check in, I have opened the door to my hotel room and found a naked Asian man in my bed. I insist that it be a naked Asian woman from now on.

But you know what Woddie Allen had to say about this.
