Thread: Would this be worth it for you guys

So the good news is I saw on VPfree that they had 1 dollar 99.96% VP at the Rio. The bad news was that to get even 1 TC credit you had to play 50 dollars of coin in. So to get the max 1 day bonus, it would take something like 125k coin in. If you played perfectly, that is a loss of 500 dollars. The game comes in 3/5/10 play format so you can play a little faster but still, that seems like a lot of hands.

For you regular grinders, is this worth going to for your VP/TC fix or is it much easier to play the VP at Rincon while it is still 10 dollars per TC?

What is the game? That would be my first question. If I don't know the game, and am not proficient at it, the payback on the game means nothing to me.

As I wrote before, I personally see no reason to go to Las Vegas to play video poker with the goal of maximizing Total Rewards tier points for reaching 7 Stars. I can still go to Rincon where 1 point = $10 coin in and play full-pay Aces and Faces or full-pay Bonus poker which both return about 99.2% and save the expense of travelling to Vegas.

It's bad enough at Caesars Palace that full-pay games require $25 coin in for 1 tier point, but needing to bet even more just makes no sense and becomes a punishment instead of an incentive to play.

Sorry Alan for not putting it in the first post, the game is Double Double Bonus.

What is the pay table for Double Double Bonus that returns 99.96% ??

At Caesars the best you will find is 9/5 and at Rincon the best you will find is 8/5.

I suspect this is 10/6 with the SF reduced to 200.

At Caesars the best you will find is 9/5 and at Rincon the best you will find is 8/5.

    The pay table is:

    1 JoB
    1 2-pair
    3 3 of a kind
    4 straight
    6 flush
    10 full house
    50 4 of a kind 5s through Ks
    80 4 of a kind 2s through 4s with 5-K kicker
    160 4 of a kind As with 5-K kicker
    160 4 of a kind 2s through 4s with A kicker
    400 4 of a kind As with 2-4 kicker
    40 straight flush
    800 royal flush

I just played this machine for a bit yesterday to run some freeplay.

It is only a $1 machine, so it is not practical to use it to earn tier credits. It would take 25,000 hands to get 2500 tier points. Even if you ran 1000 hands per hour (which is impossible), there still wouldn't be enough time in the day to get it done.

Even if you were to use these machines to just get the 1,000 tier credit bonus (instead of 5,000), it would require 10,000 hands. This could be done, but it would literally take you all day and all night (probably like 16-20 hours), and you'd only walk away with 2,000 tier credits total when it's all said and done.

Just to clear up a few things math wise. The expected loss playing that game on 125,000 coin in is actually only $50. Also if it is $1 10 play you could get the 125,000 coin in done in a few hours. Not saying it is a great play or anything but the expected loss is low. High volatility too.

Yeah sorry for the math mistake. On 10 play is should take 2500 hands at max coin but don't you lose some % playing multiple hands? I remember some kind of math formula like that.

From the pay table I can see that this is not a regular "double double bonus" game. I'd like to read up on this game, so does anyone know the "official" name for it?

It is regular full pay Double Double, just the straight flush is changed to get it under 100%. I think mainly to make it legal in those states where over 100% games are not allowed. Also multi hand is the same pay back as single line.

    Right, got it. Thanks.

How many of these exist? In Nevada, games over 100% are legal, of course.

I kind of thought Nevada was the only state that had over 100% games but honestly I don't know. Somebody told me it was illegal in California to have over 100% but i don't know that to be for sure. I used to see that version of DD all over California. It is in less casinos now but still find it every now and then, usually at very high denominations too.

I saw that game at State Line Primm (Nevada) but I have never seen it in California. Usually DDB in California is the 9/5 variety. At Rincon it's 8/5 with or without progressives.
