Thread: CET Tier Credit changes

  1. #1
Well I know we have some CET grinders, just wanted to share and e-mail I just got from Total Rewards.

    Daily Tier Credit Bonuses1

You will continue to earn Tier Credit Bonuses in 2014. And starting January 1, 2014, you’ll have another bonus to achieve. Simply earn a certain number of Tier Credits in one day and voila ... a bonus!

Earn this many... ...and get this many more!
500 Tier Credits +125 Tier Credit bonus

    1,000 Tier Credits
    +1,000 Tier Credit bonus
    2,500 Tier Credits
    +5,000 Tier Credit bonus
Earns Platinum Status in one day!
    New! for 2014
    5,000 Tier Credits

    +10,000 Tier Credit bonus
Earns Diamond Status in one day!

    Tier Milestones

    Gold: Complimentary upon sign-up

    Platinum: 5,000 Tier Credits

    Diamond: 15,000 Tier Credits

Seven Stars®: 150,000+ Tier Credits to qualify

So the biggest thing is the new 1 day 5k level which I would imagine pushes people to play 5 dollar and up denominations.

The other thing is the wording on Seven Star. It says 150k+ to qualify. I wonder if there will be a approval process now like MGM has with its highest tier card or if it a case of reading too much into things.

What are your guys' thoughts on the 2014 changes?

Thanks for the info. I've never heard of amyone being disqualified for 7stars. If you have the points you're in. There is no approval process.

There has been an approval process in place for awhile now, but it's mainly there to verify that you don't owe them money (or are in bad standing at any of their properties).

Alan, did you ever get an email when you renewed 7 star in 2013 (passed 150k tiers)? I didn't. Weird, as I get junk email about every damn 5k tier bonus I earn.

Anyway looks like this is actually a good change for the high limit player. Now you can spend half the number of days "grinding" to 7-Star, though you will still be playing the same amount ($500,000 VP coin in). But now you can make 7 Star in 10 sessions instead of 20.

I am surprised yet not surprised that Caesar's made this change. On one hand, they realized they were being stupid by disincentivizing play after 2500 daily tier credits. On the other hand, they are making it easier on 7 Star grinders, by allowing them to low-expected-loss VP and knock out 7 star in 10 days. The 2013 system at least required a 20-day time investment.

Also, I never got this email. Wonder why Perdition got it. Sounds like Alan didnt, either.

Good question. I figured you guys would have got it for sure. Maybe it is an online opt-in kind of thing. I signed up on the internet for the TR card and have not got a physical copy yet or played in a CET property. Same with Mlife. That leads me to believe it is probably a e-mail newsletter you have to manually ask.

At the bottom of the e-mail is this if it helps any:

I did not get this email, and perhaps it is because I did not opt in for email notifications of anything. Everything I get is snail mail.

I have never been sent any kind of letter about 7Stars renewal except when they send me a new card, usually around March, or is it February?

That business about an approval process makes it sound like there is some committee that decides if they will allow you to join the country club. BS. But Dan is right... if you owe markers, or got kicked out of a casino for punching a dealer of course you are not going to get 7Stars.

I had this same kind of back and forth with the guys on Wizard of Vegas who seemed to think there was some kind of "invitation only" thing attached to 7Stars. BS invitation only. You gamble enough and you're in. Just pay your markers and be a good, well behaved customer.

Seems random. I did get the e-mail and I am only a low level diamond these days. Of course, I get a ton of great gift stuff and we cant earn any points for that here in chicago-northern indiana.

While I was in Vegas last weekend I tried to use my 2014 $100 Diamond Appreciation Dinner. The clerk at Caesars Total rewards counter stated she thinks they are getting rid of that offer. She also stated that they will not be releasing any changes to the tier benefits until the end of March, but she thought that the tier points would be remaining the same.

I don’t think is fair of CET to not inform players of the benefits to their player card program until the end of the 1st quarter of the year.

The 10,000 point bonus mentioned above is correct as I have received it multiple times this year.

Aaron, is this th $100 Diamond Dinner from 2013 or 2014? If from 2013 you have until the end of March 2014 to use it. For 2014 the first date to use it would be April 1. I used my Diamond dinner in 2013, as well as my 7Stars $500 dinner. So I wouldn't get any more "dinners" until April 1 when the new fiscal year for the "tiers" starts.

Anytime before April 1 they could announce changes. I hope they don't change it -- it was a nice fringe benefit. When you lose too many fringes, you don't want to wear the coat. And that $100 Diamond dinner was one of the few fringes I could actually use. I have two or three "trips" with $500 food credits that expire each year because I can't use them.

I fully agree that it's ridiculous not to have the benefits listed by January 1, 2014. It doesn't matter that you can't redeem them until April 1. You are earning them starting January 1, so you should know what you're shooting for.

This is just laziness on the part of CET. They have gotten later and later every year with notifying people of the benefits.

Alan, why don't you use the annual trips? You can take one to Las Vegas without having to go too far, and just forego the airfare. Isn't it worth doing? I think you can probably combine it with a freeplay offer, but I'm not 100% sure.

You can definitely combine your $500 dinner (not talking about the trip) with existing offers.

Dan: Yes, I could take one of the annual trips to Vegas since Rincon is considered my "home casino" since that's where I do most of my play. But unfortunately I can't combine the trip with the $500 food credit with a free play or gift card offer in Vegas -- it's one or the other, they told me. And to be honest, $1,000 of free play is worth more than a $500 food credit.

Yes, you can combine the $500 annual dinner with another offer, and I used the $500 annual dinner during New Year's weekend -- four of us, including my son and his girlfriend.

As far as the other trips, including the 7 Stars Experiences?? I haven't had the time to go away for more than a couple of days. But if I did have a reason to go then yes I could make use of one of these.

The fact is that Caesars doesn't expect everyone to take advantage of every offer. If everyone did, it would cost CET too much money. It's like the coupon business. The manufacturers expect only one-half of one percent of the coupons printed to be redeemed.

And Dan, I agree with you that program changes should be publicized well in advance. I think you're reasoning is also correct: folks should know what they're shooting for starting on January first.

I am debating that same issue now Alan. My husband wants to go for Super Bowl but I would like to go when I can use my $750.00 free play. We used our $500 annual dinner New Years too. Had dinner at Center Cut in the Flamingo. There were four of us as well. Didn't spend the entire $500 so we ended up taking 2 bottles of wine home with us. Food was good, service mediocre. Having been in the restaurant business before service is very important to me. I've always said good service can cover a bad meal but bad service will destroy even the best of meals.
