I just received a notice that my auction on eBay for an authentic Louis Vuitton shopping bag, plus the box from a new Louis Vuitton wallet can't be sold on eBay.
The reason is that the Louis Vuitton company is afraid that someone might buy it and put a counterfeit item in the authentic packaging and try to sell it.
I can't blame them for that.
I was told that items such as boxes for Rolex watches are valuable and thought that boxes for Louis Vuitton merchandise might also be valuable -- in case someone wants to re-gift an item. But I perfectly understand the reasoning for cancelling the auction.
Ironically, Rolex boxes can and are sold on eBay. My Louis Vuitton bags and boxes that will not be sold on eBay are shown in the photos below.
