Thread: Casino Pauma Offer that you can't pass up

Casino Pauma is a small casino in North San Diego County located between Pala Casino and Harrah's Rincon. If not for a traffic light along the drive from Pala to Rincon, you would probably drive right by it -- because it is set back off the main road and is hidden by trees and the orange groves.

But Casino Pauma is worth finding for an offer for this month -- January -- only.

If you never had a Player's Club card there before -- when you sign up Pauma will match any weekly offer from another casino. You must bring your player's card from the other casino plus the mailer that the other casino gave you that states your weekly offer. Pauma will also match your "status" with the other casino and give you the same free play amount.

I stopped by yesterday when a friend told me about this promotion and I was given Pauma's highest level player's card (Optimum + which is their equivalent of 7 Stars) plus $140 of free play which is what I get from Rincon each week.

The Optimum+ benefits include various discounts plus you can actually call in to "hold your favorite game" which is interesting.

Below is my photo of what I received with the sign up -- and I turned my $140 of free play into $305 of cash thanks to hitting quad 3s on 9/5 Jacks or Better... which, by the way, is better than the 8/5 Jacks that Rincon now offers.

Pauma also has better paytables for double double bonus (see the photo) than Rincon and they have full pay 8/5 Bonus poker on some machines but not all.

Pauma is a smaller casino -- and it is very clean, very neat, and very pretty and surprisingly not very smokey. I liked it. I also included a photo that I shot in the men's room of the sink and soap dispenser -- all touch free. So are the urinals and the towel dispensers and you walk around a corner so there is no touching of door handles -- and I think that is very important to have in a casino restroom. The Pauma men's room that I checked out is also modern and very clean and that's really good.

There is Valet parking and there are several very attractive eateries -- though I didn't have time to check them out. I was given a parking pass for premium parking as part of my membership.

Clearly Pauma wants to atttact customers from the neighboring casinos and by offering better video poker at a time when Rincon is downgrading their games, Pauma is on the right track. Now I wonder if Rincon might take notice of "the new kid down the block"?

Check the video poker pay tables carefully because they vary with the denomination of the game. There are also some table games including $3 blackjack but I did not check the blackjack rules.
