Thread: Caesars Palace for customer service

  1. #41
I don't get room service much. When I do, I have mixed experiences with it.

Ordering big/expensive meals with room service is actually a BETTER deal, because there's less markup and the $6 delivery fee and other surcharges account for a smaller percentage of the bill.

The worst is ordering room service for something like breakfast, where bacon and eggs ends up costing you $30 after it's all said and done.

BTW, at Caesar's (and most Caesar's properties), you can get free bottled water at the front desk. Just ask for it. They will give you several at a time if you want them.

I also bring my own non-water beverages in the room.

I do think it would be great if they gave Seven Stars some kind of small minibar allowance per stay.

Dan do you ever "drop in" the Diamond/7Stars check-in office for their coffee, cookies and bottled water... all for the taking? I'm not too keen on the oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, but the "plain" chocolate chip cookies are superb.

She also kept telling me to go to the ER, which I also refused. (I ended up there 8 days later anyway, when I appeared to have complications from my broken ribs, which turned out to be a false alarm. Cost me over $6600 though...)
And in my opinion, that's the reason why you shouldn't complain about the price for these drinks. I'm not saying they weren't way too expensive, but it was your choice to seriously limit your own options.

The minibar business is so lucrative that a few years ago a friend of mine sold his mortgage banking business to go into the minibar business.

Both mortgage banking and minibars can drive you to drink... but I think he gets a discount through the minibar business that he couldn't get when he was doing mortgages.

    Dan,
Caesars should have treated their VIP better.
It was very short sighted of them.

I get better treatment with Mlife as a lowly Pearl card member.

I prefer the cookies at Harrah's VIP check in. Chocolate with the coconut inside.

Just curious Alan. Does your host at Caesars have amenities delivered to your room when you stay there?

I must be short changed in the room amenities department... I used to get a box of nuts and a box of chocolates from some high end company but I haven't gotten them in the last two visits. The name of the brand escapes me but I loved the nuts (took them home, never ate them at the casino) and the chocolates looked like gold bars.

Years ago... and I mean YEARS AGO... I used to get fruits and bottles of soft drinks and platters of cookies delivered... but that was "the old Caesars" before the buyout by Harrah's.

Only by accident did I open the drawers to find this stuff. I wonder if they still stock those rooms that way?? Lately I've been in the Augustus because I prefer the view of the Bellagio fountain.
    Hi Alan

I had a great time but saw your post after the fact! Funny thing is I did not check the drawers but now I am curious! lol!

I did think about Augustus Tower...however I really like the relaxing in the evening with the view of the pool. Because it is lit up the way it is, you can be in the dark in your room and it casts a very pretty light

I had to request that, not sure if all of the rooms look over the pool...but it seems like every time I make a point of asking for that I get a very cool view.

I did go to the top of the Paris and got vertigo! lol! It's like a cage and you can see the Bellagio fountains below..The thing is, its about the size of a living room and at 47 stories up although I am not afraid of heights, the slight sway of that thing and the small size and all made me not so relaxed

I ended up leaving all the shampoo's and soaps and stuff as I bring my own, sometimes I take them as souvenirs for family that live overseas and send them with shirts and hats and stuff...this time I just left them.

I really do enjoy the oversized jacuzzi tubs in the room that was cool..very relaxing after losing track of time in the casino.

I did play Superman in High Roller and although it was a lower denomination, $5-$20 a spin resulted after a several hour session with very very poor returns although it was fun

I had a guy next to me who put $40.00 a spin into Sex and the City and pulled out a few grand after a few spins and while waiting for his payout, he went to the other side of me and on a 7's type machine hit $63,000.00 at $45.00 a spin within minutes!

I should of stuck a few hundreds in that one!

Despite that high roller hitting, I did find over all the slots to be incredibly tight.

A friend and I drove out to Red Rock and within minutes of being there he hit approx. 7 thousand on a poker machine and a lady next to us $3000.00

I found "off" the strip paid better and we played there all day and left ahead.

We went back and played a lot at the Rio and Ceasers as well as Paris.

But it was just a very fast drain on the bank roll to where it wasn't even fun!

However, I put in the points as they did give us a great room and other comps...

It kind of made up for it, I just wish they would realize that their players will have no choice but to go to other properties when you max bet for hours all over the place on different machines and you just "know" they are very tight.

Prepared to spend, but also know when the games are not lining up giving a fair shot even for fun.

Ceasers seemed the tightest of all...although a beautiful environment and fun over all

LizzyM thanks for the trip report. The Octavius Tower offers two views -- the pool on one side, and on the other side, the I-15 freeway.

I prefer the Augustus with a room facing the Bellagio fountains.
