Aaron and I have hooked up at Rincon, and while we didn't have much of a conversation the first time -- last night we chatted for about a half hour, I think. We both came in for the free play promotions. Photo of the two dudes below.
I was lucky with my free play. I had $250 of free play and when Aaron stopped by I was up to about $750 playing $1 8/5 Bonus. (The machine with Aces and Faces was taken.)
After Aaron left to go up to his room, I resumed playing (a mistake) and cashed out at $400 which was a loss of $350.
I went to craps and bought in for $100 and several players had long rolls. One play got four points on the fire bet which paid $125. I cashed out $505 which was a gain of $405.
And back to video poker. But here's where I followed the advice of Rob Singer. Rob says after you win you should move down in denomination and that's what I did.
I went to a 25-cent Royal Aces Bonus game (this is where quad aces pays the same as a royal.) And with only a few 20s in the machine I was dealt quad aces for $1,000.
Photo below. By the way the machine does lock up for this $1,000 pay and a hand pay is required.
Wins of $1,000 up to $1199 do not require a hand pay in the high limit room, but in the regular video poker area a handpay is needed. (Don't worry Rob, the staffers don't have their hands out for a tip on the $1,000 hand pays.)
