In the mail today... an invitation from Caesars to take part in their $75,000 Mahjong Tournament in April. Never did I imagine that one day Caesars would host a Mahjong tournament.

Now that there is one, I regret all those days when I was a kid that I didn't observe more closely my Aunts Eva, Jenny, Selma, Sylvia playing Mahjong while my father and Uncles Eddie, Murray, Jack, Saul and others played pinnacle in the backyard on Sundays while we barbecued.

My sister Leslie inherited Aunt Eva's ivory Mahjong set.

Caesars will hold the tournament at Harrah's in a shootout style, which I think means the winner of its game moves on to the next level. 300 are expected for the tournament and if less the $75,000 prize pool will be adjusted lower.

It is not a cash tournament -- and prizes will be paid in "casino play."

So what's next for Caesars? Backgammon, chess, checkers, darts, or a putt-putt golf tournament?
