Thread: New mailer with free play coupons

  1. #1
In the mail today is a mailer from Caesars that doesn't appear to be much of anything... until you open it. I received two slot play coupons in the mailer... each for $125 of free play (video poker is OK) and they are valid until the end of June. One is specifically for The Quad, and the second can be used at any of the Caesars casinos in Vegas. There are no restrictions so yes these can be combined with other offers.

Since they are "live free play vouchers" they are printed on thin paper so it gives the appearance of being "junk mail" and not a valuable offer. But $250 of free play in the mail that can be used at any time and can be combined with any other offer seems very valuable to me.

The mailer promotes the new video poker and slot machines that Caesars has been purchasing and installing in its casinos.

$250 of free play actually makes it worthwhile to make the drive to Las Vegas so it will add value to any of the offers I have for about $1,000 of free play or gift cards.

But there is one thing I want to check: will the voucher work in a machine at Rincon? The vouchers list the Vegas casinos but you never know!

SOME of the free play vouchers that you get in Vegas are also valid at ANY Total Rewards casino -- you have to inquire when you get them.

That's the first time we have gotten one from Vegas. I've had them from Council Bluffs, Kansas City and Lake Tahoe but I've never tried to use them in other Total Rewards casinos.

It says "tear along perforated line" but I can barely feel the line. I may have to use a scissor to cut it out.

Let me know if you go to Rincon and try to use them.

Be careful with the scissor. If you don't cut on the perforation the coupon might be rejected by the machines for not being the correct size. I find that the best way to "find" the perf is to gently fold the paper and the "perf" seems to show itself.

If you screw up the coupon take it to Total Rewards. Generally they will replace. I've also heard that they will also divide the coupons into smaller denominations, but I haven't had the need to do this.

A few months ago I had a $500 coupon sent in the mail -- I used the whole thing at one machine at the Rio with multiple denominations. Yes the Rio because it had 8/5 Bonus at $1 which is not available at Caesars Palace.

I get a monthly mailer from HorseShoe Cincinnati and one from HorseShoe Southern Indiana. For February and March I have been getting $80 coupons from Indiana and $60 from Cincinnati 8-10 coupons for each spread out every 3-4 days. I earned 321,000 tier credits last year and have 69,000 year to date. I also am getting $65 coupons for Wednesdays and Fridays at Sourthern Indiana. I have a $90 free slot play for St. Patrick's day at Southern Indiana. My drive to either casino is about 90 miles so I don't go for all of the free plays. In a lot of ways I find the free play offers to be smaller then back when I was a platinum black jack player. Well except for last summer HorseShoe Cincinnati a few months after they opened sent me about $7000 in free slot play that was spread out over June and July last year. Then they started sending me $15 coupons for a while and I no longer am getting the invites for the VIP gift giveaways where you take the gift or $150 in reward credits. There never seems to be a lot of consistency with free slot play offers in relation to amount played the previous couple of months.

    Alan,

Nash here. Davo and I are heading to Vegas tomorrow morning to use up one of 2 7 Stars trips. Just curious when you were there last week did you use the coupons for the Quad and the other casinos? Do you just put them in the machines like free play?

Yes, I used $250 at Caesars and $250 at the Quad. Take a look at the thread about The Quad. I showed a photo of the Bonus game paytable. All the VP there is terrible. Ironically, I doubled up my $250 when the machine gave me a bunch of full houses -- I cashed out $510. Then I walked up to the Wynn to take the photo.

The coupons work just like other free play coupons... you put them in the slot.

I tried to use the Quad coupon at Caesars but it didn't work. They are coded for the casinos. One must be used at the Quad, and the other can be used at any of the other company casinos in town. You can use both at the Quad... but don't.

The best video poker tables are at the Rio where you can find full pay games at $1.

Just going for 2 nights and we are flying so I'm not sure we will make it over to the Rio this time. I think I'll use mine at Caesars too.

If youre in Vegas for two nights, there is plenty of time to go to the Rio. there is a shuttle bus from Caesars, or a short cab ride. If you're adventurous, you can walk it in 20 minutes.

Rio supposedly has $1 per credit 8-5 Bonus Poker, but I've had a hard time finding those machines. They are also supposedly $50 per tier credit, which sucks. That's a 99.17% return, if you can find them.

They also have a 99.96% Double Double Bonus machine (10-6), and that one I did find. It's a 3-5-10 play machine, meaning you will be spending a minimum of $15 per hand. I have played that before, and indeed it's $50/tier credit, which means you earn tier credits 5 times slower than normal.

It is between the All American Bar and Grill and the Buffet.

Dan on my last drop in visit to Rio I played $1 8/5 Bonus and it earned normal tier points. There were several of these along with 9/6 Jacks games. This was about three months ago. These are in their video poker room.
