Thread: 2014 Changes for Seven Stars program leaked

Over New Year's weekend the four of us spent the $500 at Homestead Steak House and while I did not have a drink, the others had one glass of wine each. Four entres, two appetizers, three side dishes and we shared two desserts and the whole $500 was gone.

It goes fast in these steakhouses, but you guys did some serious eating.

By the way... has anyone else noticed how the Seven Stars yearly guides have steadily declined in quality over the past few years? The first year I made 7 Stars they sent me a bound, hardcover book suitable for a coffee table display, with glossy pages and fine, artistic photos and rich illustrations. That was followed by some soft cover pamphlets... and for 2014 the yearly guide looks like a supermarket handout flyer with specials from the produce section.

If CET could get away with it they would send everything electronically. I have to chuckle when the casinos say "Go Green. Get paperless offers via email."

"Go Green" really should mean "Save Us Some Green" (postage & mailer printing costs)

I heard about this forum while reading through several others lately. I've been looking for more information about what the playing public thinks about CET's general TR program, and there's an absolute abundance of that here. 7-Stars members usually do have lots of interesting comments.

I worked in the Harrahs system as a middle manager for almost 10 years, much of the time spent at the casino being closed in Tunica. A few months ago I heard rumblings about my property closing up, so an offer for a position at the Lake Tahoe Harrahs/Harveys popped up and I took it. It wasn't easy moving my family (we have 2 teenage boys) but they fell in love with the lake, the winter, the area, and even the people. The problem is, 2 weeks ago I was let go with no explanation at all other than they're "cutting back". Now, trying to hook up with any casino around here or in Reno at my former level seems impossible, so I'm trying anywhere in the country that'll hire me. The writing was on the wall at least 6 months ago, but at least they paid for our transfer.

I worked in casino mgmt. in Tunica and I was partly in charge of the high limit rooms mgmt./partly asst. to the casino manager in the Tahoe properties. I met and talked to many 7-Stars members naturally, and the majority of them had the same feelings I'm getting from what I've read here. There's a general tightening of the belt going on in the casino industry. I got hit big time for sure, and the customers will continue to feel the pain going forward. The way I see it, I got treated rotten but others got it much worse. At least we're not stuck down in Ms. If I can help in any way please ask. I can't spend a ton of time on the forum since I'm looking for a job all the time. But I'll try to look in each day or two.

Hi nearthetop and thanks for joining. I wish I had some info about jobs in the casino business but I don't. Perhaps other members might know of job openings?

I am afraid that there is more cost cutting to come because there are just too many options for gambling now -- and I can't imagine why the big brick and mortar casino companies would support online gambling. I think that can only take more money and jobs away from brick and mortar casinos. For that reason, Sheldon Adelson is my hero and I support his efforts to block online gaming.

I appreciate your offer to participate here and we are always looking for insights about how players are rated and how comps and offers are given. In the past year I have seen my offers from Caesars cut dramatically, and I just got new mailers with offers for the summer and they were cut again. About a year ago I was getting offers of about $2500 per trip -- then down to $1,000 --- and starting in June I am cut to $900.

What amazes me is that they are actually making a cut of $1,000 to $900. Are they watching the bottom line that closely that there is a difference in an offer of $1,000 vs $900??
